Description I thought it would be fun to share this experiment with you guys, still needs a lot of work though.Β My parents were chased by an Elephant called Charlie in Zambia, and another Charlie once ate my friend's car keys in Malawi. As for me, I don't remember the names of the buggers that chased me, but they was big I can tell you. But Charlie is a good name.

If I don't make renders of one type of majestic creature, then I'll make renders or another type. Just don't call the former the latter, you won't be having sex for a while, ahem.Β  I should actually label this with 'Nudity'... hm.

<CAUTION NEWCOMERS> I'm an erotica artist! Lots of naked people in my gallery, be warned

As Lali comes from, and will return to certain parts of Africa, I'll be needing an elephant or two in one or two of her comics. Although there are very few Elephants in west Africa I think, Lali will also venture further south. So while the DD renders (plus other comix) I took the time to try and pimp this Poser5 style elephant model. The shape had to be improved since it looked more like some monstrosity from the Oligocene, the rigging needed refining because it was like folding a pinata, and as you might be able to see, the original textures have the resolution of a pacman sprite. Thanks to poser's procedural trickery I was able to get something nifty out of it, but I think I'll have to make my own textures, and the face shape still needs work.

Rendered in Firefly, Poser 11, some color adjustments and dust layers added in PS.

(update: I quickly improved his face and his color. He looked too much like a puzzle, and he was very dark. I relaxed the procedurals and I went by his original textures and used them as displacement maps. Looks a bit better. Here's the original...)

Ok onwards with girls again

Two frames, almost made me put on my 3d glasses or cross my eyes to make two become one.

Looks incredibly detailed, and of course you would know first hand. I bet you miss them.

stunning. you captured the power of these wonderful creatures which is not surprising with your history and experience. i like the subtle haze over the image as microscopic sand is displaced into the air by the foot and trunk on the dry ground.

i wish you would do more stuff like this much as you are great at characters and people interacting but i personally would like to see what you can do with your ideas in single pictures and portraits and see your imagination and skills pored into a single pieceΒ

Look at the trunk on that guy!

( I've had close encounters with black bears and whitetail bucks but they seem pale in comparison to a beast like that, fwew)

Very well done. Sometimes you need animals in your renders to make the setting more believable. Maybe this is also good for the Sen comic.

I'm always surprised how good your firefly renders are! This is real artistic skill.

Clearly you are yearning for the home of our species.

I think you've done a great job to improve on the original model. I was just wondering that is he's to be Charlie - doesn't he need a little bit of personality? Bit like the real Charlies out there...

very nice. Still a little plasticky. Maybe up the SSS? not alot. The lack of the body hair probably has a bit to do with it as well. Still way better that the pac man sprites.

The tusks look a bit odd as well.

keep up the excellent work.

Wow... I had to look twice before understand that it wasn't photographies... lol
Give the environment of dust, I wonder if their skin isn't somewhat a little too reflective? I'n not criticizing, rather asking

Great work on it, I always love seeing old models getting a fresh treatment. That said, if you've got Lali on an elephant and someone is complaining about the elephant's rigging, I am going to suggest to you that they've come to you for the wrong reasons...

more shrubbery in the background and it would remind me of our stay in KrΓΌger park- especially the one on the right
