Description

They watch. They guard. They burn.

The Mingling's quivering, putrid flesh still heaves, up there in the massif. Its spawnlings pop and bounce and dance out. From time to time, a pod is released. Other infestations continue in Aphrodite or Beta or Lada....

But thanks to Ishtar, and Ishtar alone, there is no sparkle behind the black globular eyes. It's just a barely-operating mass. It hungers, it hunts, it consumes, it guards. Barely animalistic. Maws litter the countryside, the mountainsides. Every cave a red or pink toothy tunnel. Every crack in the dirt some warren.

All thanks to Ishtar.

The fleet of coffins, sacrophagi, bound corpses, bodies - they watch, too, from orbit. They guard. They burn, or hunt, or chase any zygote that manages to leave the atmosphere. Painted eyes over avionics and scanners. Joined hands with weapon emplacements. Feet that do not move, but propel all the same.

The Mingling's Maw shall never arise again. It is kept down. In time, it will be destroyed. Eradicated. The biosphere can rest easy, the blasphemous ghast shall not arise again. All shall not become one, all shall not become one.

All thanks to Ishtar.

All thanks to Ishtar.

All thanks to Ishtar.
