Description
So I was witness to some DA drama yesterday (I wasn't a participant in the drama, but I was witness to it and I did my part to cool the flames), and I decided to make this meme. It's amazing how the internet brings out people's inner asshole. People get bashed and yelled at for the simple crime of having an individual opinion. This is just a reminder - chill out. If someone's a fan of something you don't like (or vice-versa), it's really NOT a big deal.

You know how people keep bringing up SonOfOdin29 (now Wolverine51)? Well, I know of someone worse than him: DisneyPhilip! He won't accept that there are people who dislike "Teen Titans Go!" (or anything he likes for that matter, and besides, it seems that the haters and critics of the show are just more vocal). He attacks people like Mr. Enter (who I may be mostly indifferent to, but I don't think he deserves to die) and PIEGUYRULZ (who actually knows when to stop talking about TTG). At least Wolverine51 seemed to understand that I personally didn't dislike the show just 'cause it's not the original; he just disagrees with me about it, which is okay, really. But DisneyPhilip actually flat out told me that PieGuy was "dead wrong" about TTG, saying that he "misses the point". Seriously, his username disgraces the name of Disney due to it being attached to his attitude toward anyone who disagrees with him.
Just note that I'm fine with people liking TTG. Heck, I even tend to follow some people who like the show. But this guy belongs in an insane asylum due to his delusions and refusal to listen to others.

Whenever someone gets pissed upon seeing someone expressing a different opinion on something that isn't worth getting worked up for (like movies or such), they should think about this small exchange from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country:
McCoy: Well, they don't arrest people for having feelings.
Chekov: And it's a good thing too, if we did we'd all have to turn ourselves in!
It's one of my favorite quotes because it's so true.

Funny how a lot of people are bringing up this Son of Odin guy. I checked out his page and found a post where he openly admitted that his past actions were wrong and that he was sorry for being a jerk to everyone. I dunno, I only just discovered this guy, so for all I know, he could be one of those types of people online who apologize for something but then proceed to go back to doing it afterwards. Has he done this sort of thing after making his apology?

He's never sincere about apologizing and changing. He's still an intolerant asshole.

He deletes posts that get him in trouble and yes, he has CONSTANTLY made "apologies" and then gone back to the same stuff again. He's also spread downright LIES about me.

Also Cynical-Rarity and BigEaterYogi. I'm sorry but they have shown me nothing that makes me believe contrary, since to them, my unforgivable crimes are "YOU LIKE LUCY/NYU, THAT'S WRONG! Then again sometimes the internet breaks the rules of real life. Though it does make me wonder if some people who became web reviewers are using it as an excuse to be rude to other people's opinions. Then again if they are rude to us, we try to retaliate by saying "You should be ashamed of yourself for hurting people's feelings." But they think we are being oversensitive and rude and start up an argument.

I wouldn't be surprised if some people become internet critics so they can parade around acting like their opinions are worth more than everyone else's.

Indeed it's not a big deal at all! I mean, by "Internet logic" (TM), you and I "should" be screaming at each other like babies--a Han fan and a Knight of Ren. But guess what, when we act like adults, we prove that is absolutely not necessary.
Ironically I linked a video over in my current journal last night that makes a point about the dumb things people argue over in Internet fandom. It may put a smile on your face.
(And funny enough I was thinking of you when I posted it...precisely because you and I do NOT act like the people in the video!)

Exactly! Your favorite character KILLED my favorite character and - holy shock of holy shock! - we don't bitch at each other for having different tastes and can be friends and, as you said, we act like adults.
I've often used this metaphor for internet behavior. Imagine you're at the mall (or some other crowded place), and you see a stranger wearing a t-shirt with a picture of a character you hate. You wouldn't walk up to that person and yell at them for liking said character (unless you're a REAL asshole), and yet the same sort of thing happens on the internet all the time.
(goes to check out the video).

You know what, a few nights ago I even had a DREAM of your version of Kylo, and guess what? Knowing it was yours instead of mine, and knowing the differences in psychology didn't make the dream any less cool--I was still acting out an awesome story!
(I came to visit your Kylo in prison, except he escaped and I was trying to track him...it may or may not have been because I thought it would go better if I got to him first instead of someone else. )
Now granted I do have some very strong opinions about stuff, but even when I express myself strongly I hope people will know that I am generally understanding of others' right to have their own opinions.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I'm not even a Zelda fan (my one experience with Zelda on a Game Boy frustrated me to no end), and it was still outrageously funny. I've watched it more times than I care to admit.
And thanks for the watch! There be weirdness in my gallery, but I hope I'll say something interesting once in a while.

I was once told by someone "have fun on your pedestal"" because I didn't like a tv show they did.
The reasons someone might like something may be the very reason someone else doesn't like it. No one is better than or less than for liking or disliking anything.

Exactly! Hell, I've been bashed for liking the Star Wars prequels who knows how many times. I remember once on Facebook, a couple of idiots in a Star Wars group were saying Hayden Christensen should be run over with a truck. Now you can hate fictional characters all you want, but I draw the line at wanting real people dead. So I pointed out how immature they were being, and next thing I know I'm being called butthurt left and right and I'm being told that I should run Hayden over with a truck.
Yeah, the internet brings out your inner asshole.
