A thousand cookie fortunes,
Some Dandelion Wine,
A dandy hooded sweater,
Prized “Pearls Before Swine”.
A cluttered Gmail email,
Empty root beer bottles,
A smiling star bracelet,
Lego Star Wars models.
A sadly dusty guitar,
Cherished roller blades,
A love for alternative music,
Bright lime green shades.
A bell-rung clanging alarm clock,
Caretaking duty of a pool,
An allowance spent on movies,
Self-titled ‘Illustrious Fool’.
A verbose volley of verbiage,
Glasses upon the face,
An impish, mischievous smile,
No hope for drawing but to trace.
A carrying voice of clarity,
My hero, Shel Silverstein,
A size 10 pair of shoes,
Worldly wonders still unseen.
A random act of kindness,
Magnetic poetry upon a fridge,
A stained paper shoji screen,
Flamboyance, just a smidge.
A copper laden cross,
Sarcastic smirk smiled on cue,
A dapper white suit coat,
‘Passion Fruit Smoothie’ aroma shampoo.
A Friday night spent dancing,
The wisdom to Always Love,
A deep disliking of bananas,
Obsession with clouds floating above.
A poem written because of a prompt,
Half-full is the glass that shines,
A breathing meaning behind the words,
Etched in the living lines.
