One of my experiments with glue, translucent white alabaster, and coloring agents. The wings were pieces of alabaster, cut in half, slightly hollowed, colored internally, and then glued back together and glued to the body. The form itself was based on the speculation that fairies are somehow akin to what we perceive as insects. And if the life cycle of insects can involve egg to larvae to pupa to emergence as adult, perhaps that's the life cycle of fairies?
