Description Part of a series showcasing the variations in the official depictions of Qymaen jai Sheelal/ Pre-Cyborg Grievous. This is the original, based on Warren Fu's illustration and the 30th Anniversary Star Wars Figure Collection. I find this design rather odd because of the imbalance of his clothes. In the original illustration his legs are obscured by mist, on the figure they are nearly bare. However, since he wears either segmented armor (illustration) or wrapped bandages (figure), a vest, bandoleer, collar and cape, hood and mask his outfit is top heavy. On the figure, his top layers can be removed and his simple torso wrappings and exposed head is more balanced and shows of his slightly odd proportions.

He is lanky and plantegrade with 5 front toes and one back toe with long apish arms and 2 fingers and 2 thumbs per hand. The illustration has pale claws and no pupils whereas the figure has black claws and visible pupils. His skin is browner in the illustration and oranger on the figure. The original illustration has little spikes on the elbows that are not present on the figure or other iterations (including this drawing).

I am quite fond of how shriveled he is in this iteration, bat-like and monstrous, though I'm not so sure about the bald head, it works with him but not when I've tried depicting others who typically have iconic hair styles. I had forgotten that he was this wrinkly as it is very different to how I typically depict Kaleesh (I use a simpler, later iteration). I will be experimenting with how to incorporate these features into how I depict them.
