The ittan-momen is a ghostly being or 'youkai' originating in Japan's Kagoshima prefecture. It normally takes the appearance of an ordinary strip of cloth about ten meters long, drifting harmlessly through the air. If threatened or frightened by humans, however, it attacks by wrapping itself around the victim's nose or mouth.

I don't know why I didn't think of this guy immediately! I have sort of a 'thing' for creatures covered in stitches so a cloth-monster seems pretty natural for me. The sock-tongue is my own invention, of course

I'm not sure if the other fellow there is an ordinary human or some kind of ugly little monster of his own. Could go either way, so imagine it as whatever you want it to be!
