Description
A painting I did for a recent show that was inspired by the question, are you my mother? Mothers bring us into a dangerous world, pushing us out from the pure safety of the womb, and into a permanently hostile environment. First, they grow us, and secure us within the seemingly limitless refuge of their bodies. We flow from them eventually, and are dropped out into the snarling universe, forever in search for a similar sense of that security. Ink and oil on illustration board, thanks for looking!
