Type H Shuttlecrafts operated in the late 2260s / early 2270s and were a first step towards the later runabouts.

The main focus of the H class should be increasing independence from the mother ship. In contrast to the older models, the H class has a powerful warp drive and can reach warp 4. The ships have two Type 4 phaser emitters and are therefore no longer easy targets for enemy ships. H class shuttlecraft are usually flown by two pilots (1 helmsman, 1 operations officer), but can also be handled by just one person. Overall, these ships have the capacity to comfortably accommodate up to 8 people, but in emergency situations up to 20 people can be transported.
