Description
On the morning of October 27, 2012, we're on the Reading & Northern to chase The Railroad's former Gulf Mobile & Northern G-1 Pacific #425 on the 2012 Fall Foliage Special from Jim Thorpe to Port Clinton PA. Heading up Hometown Hill, the fireman blew down a little bit, which was nearly right next to us as it assaults the hill heading towards Port Clinton. Assisting the 425 on this trip is an SD50 which is one of the main motive power on the Railroad's freight trains. 10 years later, the Pacific would be taken out of service for it's mandatory 1,472 day inspection with newly restored Reading T-1 Northern #2102 taking it's place. Today, the Pacific is still waiting for the start of it's inspection to return to running condition.
