Description
This is my idea for a Sonic game. (that's right, I'm lookin' at you, SEGA).It's meant to be in the "storybook" sub-series, like "Sonic and the Secret Rings", and "Sonic and the Black Knight", and this time Sonic gets sucked into the world of the Greek Myths.
Sonic is accompanied by Iris, (Shahra), Goddess of Rainbows and messenger to the higher Gods. She gives him the wings off of Hermes' sandals, giving him the power of flight to aid in his quest to collect the Seven Pestilences, which the foolish and greedy King Midas (Eggman) accidentally released from Pandora's Box.
How does Sonic collect the Pestilences? Well, each one has infected the hero of a different myth, putting those characters and their stories in grave danger.
I haven't figured out all the details, but I think Sonic will have to:
-Save Icarus (Tails) from falling to his death into the ocean, thus collecting the pestilence of Pride.
-Helping Hercules (Knuckles) finish his Twelve Labors, and collecting Sloth.
-Beating the crap out of Achilles (Shadow) and collecting Wrath. (A la Perfect Chaos)
I haven't thought of the rest yet. Rouge would probably be Lust, Vector'd be Greed, Amy-- Envy, (And Eggman Gluttony). I just can't think of the characters they'd play. ('cept Eggy).
Also, when Sonic recaptures a pestilence, it's corresponding Virtue is freed, fixing the Myth that has been damaged.
Feel free to suggest ideas!

Amy (envy)- Medea from the Argonauts legend or one of the gods from the beginning of the Trojan War (Eris the god of Discord throws a golden apple with "To the fairest," written on it at the feet of Hera, Aphorditie, and Athena. The three goddesses went to Paris, he chose Aphroditie, and he took Helen.)
Eggman-I'd say either Tantalus (fed his cut up son to the Gods, they didn't like that and now he's doomed to always have an apple out of reach and water that instantly vanishes when he tries to drink) or Midas (Glutton for gold maybe?).
If it was Midas then perhaps the goal would be to beat Dionysus (the god who granted Midas his golden touch) in a race. If the God of Wine is too much for the kiddies then Hermes, Messanger of the Gods, trickster, and patron deity of rogues, athletes, and travelers.

You should work out a few designs of the characters.

First let's see how Black Knight works out, with the whole medieval setting and such. I like the idea, though, both yours and SEGA's with Black Knight. Hopefully Wii will get at least five story book entries.

Your drawing is excellent and the concept for the game is awesome.
I have some ideas:
- One of the bosses should be the Minotaur. Sonic should go inside the labyrinth and Ariadne (played by Amy) would be the one to help him out.
- Silver could be Odysseus and Sonic would help him beat the cyclops.
- Blaze could be Circe, the witch who turns Odysseus and his men into pigs but then he persuades her to turn them back.
- Rouge could be Helen, as she was consumed by lust when she fled with Paris
- Vector could be Jason and Espio and Charmy could be other two Argonauts like Peleus and Orpheus.
- Other bosses could be Medusa, Scylla and Charybdis, the titans and the hydra.
- And there should be a main villain not played by any of the other characters (a la Erazor Djinn) which could possibly be Hades, the god of the underworld.
Oh my god, I became excited... this would make a great game... or a comic

oh, and as for female characters, if Rouge is going to be lust the perfect role for her could be Circe, from the story of Odysseus, I'm afraid the only other one that comes to mind is Helen of Troy .

Wow this is an awesome idea for a sonic game. SEGA should try something like this. I haven't gotten to play any of the newer Sonic games (save Olympics) but Secret Rings is on my wish list.
Getting all technical I love the lighting and the wings on his feet look great. i just can't draw wings to save my life but I may try this style to see how it works.

What a great idea! Still haven't played "Black Night" (is it even out yet?) and I'm in the middle of "Secret Rings". But this is a great idea. and Blue so TOTALLY fits the Murcury/Hermes role perfectly.

Wow! First of all, wonderful art as always. Very well drawn, and would make a perfect comic cover (hint hint). And I think that youβve got a great idea for a plot here. Too bad SEGA will most likely not make it, or at least not make it in the way youβre thinking, which really sucks. But anyway, suggestions!

I think I would actually make Eggman stand for Greed instead of Vector, if Eggman is going to be Midas. The whole βgolden touchβ myth fits greed more than gluttony in my opinionβ¦that or you could make Vector King Midas instead, but that may not work for this purpose. And thatβs just my opinion.
As for the others, I would probably make Rouge into Helen of Troy to represent Lust. In that goddess competition thing (I forget what it was called, if anything) Aphrodite offered Helen to Paris, and it was his lust for her that made him choose Aphrodite as the winner. Then you could have a plot that involves the Trojan War. Maybe something along those lines would work.
If Amy was to stand for envy, I can think of two ideas. First, thereβs the idea presented by jassgirl above who said Amy ought to be Hera. This works because Hera is always jealous of Zeusβ many other lovers. Second, thereβs the Menthe tale, which tells of a nymph by that name who was Hadesβ mistress, and a jealous Persephone turned her into a tree. Both of these might get too mature though, I think.
If you were to replace Eggmanβs gluttony with greed, what would Gluttony be? Iβm not sure. The only tales in Greek mythology that I can recall that may fit deal with non-humanoid monsters (Iβm thinking maybe Scylla and Charybdis here) that would make it near impossible to fit a Sonic character inβ¦though it would certainly be interesting to see Vector with multiple heads swallowing the crew of passing ships. Maybe something like Tantalus, who killed his son and served him as a meal to the gods? Thatβs not exactly gluttony thoughβ¦
Oh well! Just throwing out suggestions!

For the other Pestilences:
Rogue as Helen of Troy (lust),
Vector as Damocles (Damocles' Sword) (greed),
Amy/Blaze as Aglaurus or maybe Clytemnestra (envy),
and BIG as Epicurus or Erisychthon (gluttony).
Also, the effects you put on the art itself are well-executed, and the text approprately rendered (well, not so much the subtitle).
You definitely need to send this to SEGA. Now.

I like your idea. and plus there are so many people and adventures in the mythology stories that Sega could use like the adventures on the Argonaut or being trapped in the underworld and having to find a way out

Hum, this is nice, the only thing I would say is that the front leg is a little long, and, assuming that the front foot is closer to the camera. I'd suggest enlarging it a bit, for better depth. I dunno, that's the only two things that jump out at me. I know it's tough doing the angle bits. I could be horribly wrong here.

Actually, in myths, Megara was Hercules's wife. They had two kids; and 'cause Hera driven Hercules mad, he killed his wife and his children.
And Disney made such a sweety family fairytale...
