WHEW! You had me going there for a few seconds. I was about to say "What did she see in that jerk of a minotaur!?", then I read that you were "just kidding".
It's obvious in this timeline that Rarity and Spike never married each other, nor did Spike leave to live with the dragons when he was all grown up. I guess he identifies himself more as a pony than a dragon. That could be why he stayed in Ponyville.
He even admitted that he identified himself more as a pony than a dragon in that episode where he partook in the dragon migration.
