Description
Protosphyraena perniciosa was a large fish reaching 3m/10ft in length, It looked eerily similar to today's swordfish (minus the forward facing teeth and shorter bill)it was in the order pachycormiforms which included other fish like the jurassic Leedsichthys, and pachycormus and the cretaceous bonnerichthys.
Protosphyraena lived during the late cretaceous from 89-65mya
