Description
"Whilst waiting for the wash to dry, I used 2B pencil to add a few more details and shadows, the pupils in the eyes and outlining the lips. It occurred to me that I could have left the painting unfinished and it would have stood as a work in its own right, with rough edges and a contrast between detailed and specific sections and unfinished, rough washes and edges. I'll play around with it in other paintings, but I decided to go ahead and fully finish this one once it was dry."This was actually an unfinished stage of my working process to a finished portrait, but it occurred to me that it works on its own. Here is the finished version: [link]
Please tell me which you think is better? It'll be a pretty big deciding factor in how I'll work with paint in future.

I like this one better than the outlined one, possibly because of the smooth transition from red to white. It reminds me of the villain from the first Care Bears movie.
