Biological Description: Pyronite’s bodies are composed of a partially ionized plasma based substance known as Vicco-Sandel’s Matter [1]. This state of matter is a superheated fluid composed of ionized plasma cells capable of transmitting information in a manner similar to DNA through the use of ionic charges. These ions are also capable of bonding to heavy elements such as the superdense carbon found on the surface of Pyros.

It's thought that this carbon bonding is what creates the armor like integument found on Pyronites, shielding their more vulnerable internal plasma systems from external damage. This organic armor begins to harden and grow more rigid as Pyronites become older and their internal fusion process continues to create more carbonic integument [2]. The carbonic integument surrounding their body, resembling molten rock, will begin to cool and fuse over millenia, eventually completely encasing Pyronites in a prison of their own armor. Near the latter portion of their lives, many Pyronites become extremely heavy and fatigued due to this phenomenon, making it difficult to traverse the molten and unstable landscape of Pyros. Once they begin approaching their final stage of life, Pyronites will migrate to their volcanic birthing grounds, eventually finding a place to rest and using the last of their internal heat to melt the surrounding rock, fusing the armored shell of their bodies with the landscape itself. It’s unclear what exactly occurs after this process but many have theorized that their genetic material returns to some kind of underground plasmic receptacle functioning as a literal “gene pool [3].”
Due to this, Pyronites are thought to be “formed” under the right circumstances as opposed to being directly reproduced. This theory, like many others, can not be corroborated unfortunately due to the hazardous environment of Pyros being ill suited for study and scientific observation.

Homeworld Description: Pyros is a relatively nascent molten planet plagued by constant meteoric bombardment due to its weak ozone layer and lack of other nearby significant celestial bodies deterring asteroids [4]. This bombardment has resulted in an extremely active geological surface with tectonic plates that move extraordinarily fast compared to those found on Earth. Despite the world's hostile environment creating often obstructing direct observation, the existence of Pyronites on Pyros is well documented, with evidence of them having been found on a myriad of different planets, including Earth at one point.

Pyronites are known to be ejected from Pyros’ surface at times due to explosive solar geysers. These ultra-volatile geysers are powerful enough to jettison Pyronites halfway across the galaxy. The most notable of these flares in recent times was the Kiiro Event, the largest solar flare ever recorded in Pyros’ history [5]. This massive flare which occurred approximately 3,200 years ago resulted in a great dispersal of Pyronites all across the Milky Way Galaxy.

The term Vicco-Sandel's Matter comes from a the name of the lead researcher from research paper I stumbled across while researching what little there was to find on speculative biology behind plasma based life forms. To put it briefly, the paper explored the possibility of basal complex biological structures i.e cell organization & the transmission of information in a charged gaseous system.

[2]. While I realize this doesn't explain the iconic shoulder volcanoes of Ben 10K, I came up with this idea in order to explain the lack of facial slits connected to Heatblast's eyes in the Ultimate Alien design. Though the age of the aliens I'm drawing in relation to Ben is a bit ambiguous, I consider them to be in the relative to 18-25 range, and thus the closure of Heatblasts eye slits in this design would come much later in his life.

[3]. This idea came from the visuals of a caldera, which are the hollow leftovers from a volcanic magma chamber, as I pictured just how vast Pyros' network of underground magma chambers could be- if you haven't ever seen an image of a caldera I recommend it.

[4]. This is the big one. I changed Pyros from being a canonical star to a planet simply because it was easier to write around. While there may be room in a fantastical universe like Ben 10 for there to be stars that don't fit our traditional idea of what one is, that would also require a lot more logistics such as coming up with an explanation as to why Pyronites can 'walk' on something that isn't solid- and yes before anyone says they can just fly, they have feet which should mean they evolved because they were in fact, walking.
