Description
Dr. Reilic was the head psychologist of The Isle, performing a variety of mental experiments on the inmates housed in the asylum. Though his work was done on a mental level, they were just as cruel as the experiments done by the surgeons and doctors. Torturing patients with their own fears and haunted pasts, and occasionally injecting large amounts of psychoactive drugs to see what happened. One of the theories that drove Dr. Reilic's twisted methods was the idea that mental illness or the false realities of patients were caused by their brains getting trapped in some psychological loop or stagnation. His idea of fixing this was overloading the brain to allow a mental restart. In short, if the patient was blasted with enough psychological trauma, the shock would break apart the cage and free their minds. Most patients exposed to these efforts were left worse then they started, but Dr. Reilic remained confident that he was on the right track. His research came to an end when the inmates rebelled against the guards and doctors. The security teams fled the island, while the doctors barricaded themselves in their offices. Though some doctors were killed, Dr. Reilic successfully kept himself alive until rescue came. But the rescue team turned out to be a horde of armed guards and soldiers, who proceeded to massacre everyone on the island, including the doctors. Now Dr. Reilic is trapped on the Cursed Isle, forever living within the dark halls of the asylum.Due to his brutal death at the hands of the wrathful soldiers, Dr. Reilic's body is a stitched together mess of flesh and metal. His metal parts were put into him by Dr. Kyvern, who had found ways to fuse machinery with the spiritual form. Dr. Reilic, like the other doctors of The Cursed Isle, retained his mind, allowing him to continue his experiments and look for ways to use his undead form to advance psychology. His magnum opus is the discovery of a method and drug that allowed him to yank others' minds into his own. The drug, injected through his iron arm, puts victims, both dead and alive, into a dream-like state. In that state, he can yank them into his own mind and create an infinite reality of his own making to trap them in. Inside his brain, he usually toys with victims, hitting them constantly changing environments and creatures. For some, he may release them back into their own bodies, but others may be lost forever in his strange world, absorbed into his consciousness. He can also use this drug to do the reverse, and yank information from the minds of others. It is theorized that some of spectral populations may have started off rather peaceful, until Dr. Reilic exposed them to his mental powers, leaving in them in an animalistic state.

I wanted to give Dr. Reilic an update, as I found his old form too messy and complex, and I must say I am strangely surprised at how well this came out. The addition of the Rorschach being behind him really added a lot. That should teach me to try and make more backgrounds.
On another note, I feel like the Rorschach test is great enemy/boss material for a horror game. Has any game done that? (I wouldn't know, I don't play many games.) Seriously, the concepts would be awesome. One thing is using someone like Dr. Reilic who spawns enemies from his face, creating monsters out of Rorschach images. Or you could have a the player look at a few Rorschach tests at the beginning of the game and have them answer what they see through multiple choice. What they see would decide what forms of Rorschach monsters emerge for the boss battle later in the game. OR EVEN BETTER, have the entire room be covered in black and white, and have Rorschach designs and various forms emerge from the walls and floor to attack the player. Think of how disorienting that would be! Trying to fight a room for a boss battle! It would be perfect!

I like this character design, and that boss battle idea sounds hectic and fun at the same time!
