Description
The Exploding Boogie, or Dwellus bombam, is a Boogie that has two different methods for harvesting fear. During the day, the sparrow-sized Boogie hides itself in the corner of closets and pantries, latching to the ceiling, away from searching eyes. When night falls, it will flutter from its hiding spot and search for humans to scare. At this point, its methods could go one of two ways. What determines its methods is if the human is awake or asleep. If the human is awake, the Exploding Boogie will position hide itself in the room and use its mouth parts to create a sound to scare the human. Common sounds are "heavy objects falling," "shattering glass," short screeches and loud clicks. The momentary fear created from these sudden noises are enough for the Exploding Boogie to feed on for the night. It usually only does one scare, lest the victim become used to the tactic.

If the human is asleep, however, tactics change. The Exploding Boogie will land on the sleeping human and latch its mouth parts onto the human's head. It will then, somehow, inject sound into the human's head, causing them to imagine/hear it as if it were real. The sound will be extremely loud and will occur only in the person's mind, but it will be plenty to scare them awake and produce a good amount of fear. This fear is enough to last them a few nights, and they will put off the hunt in order for the human prey to think things are back to normal.

Exploding Boogies are good mimics, and often pickup noise ideas from their surroundings. Humans who have shown fear for certain things, or those who have even seen a scary movie, may give the Exploding Boogie ammunition for its next hunt.
