Description The Prince and the Pauper are a duo of enemies that can be encountered amongst other monster hordes. The two creatures are never separate from each other, making it impossible to run into just a Pauper or just a Prince. Unlike other enemy types one may encounter, the Prince and the Pauper are not meant to attack the player directly. Instead the two creatures cast buffs on other monsters on the team, or inflict status ailments to the player's characters. The two each have a specific role during battles, which are what make them a dangerous duo to face.

The Prince is a creature of excess and wealth, and he showers these riches on other monsters on the battlefield. Armed with a bloody bag that is always full, the Prince will "throw" buffs onto other monsters, giving them boosts in strength, defense, speed and even health regeneration. These buffs are cast often and quickly, allowing the Prince to beef up attacking monsters frighteningly fast. Plain, common enemies can turn into nightmares when the Prince showers them with boosts. The Prince can also cast these buffs on the Pauper, and mainly casts regeneration on its partner when its health is low. If all attacking monsters are defeated, the Prince can attack the player directly by swinging its full bag or vomiting digestive enzymes from its mouths. The Prince always lets out a wet, hearty laugh as it gives boosts to its allies.

The Pauper is a creature of poverty and emptiness, which causes it steal goods from players in order to prolong its miserable existence. Armed with an empty sack, the Pauper will "steal" buffs, mana and health, while also inflicting status ailments. Snatching with its bony claws, it can steal a player's speed, defense, strength or intelligence, casting a debuff that greatly decreases that stat. Whatever it steals is stuffed in the empty sack, and is never seen again. Players can use spells to rid themselves of the debuffs, or wait out their cooldowns, but as long as the Pauper lives, it will constantly be casting them. Even highly leveled players can be reduced to useless fighters by the barrage of debuffs and status ailments. If the Prince's health is low, the Pauper will steal the damage from its partner and inflict it on itself, essentially swapping HP. In turn the Prince can cast regeneration on the Pauper, allowing the two to stay alive as they work to take down players. If all attacking monsters are defeated, the Pauper can attack with bony claws or throw its crown of flies at opponents. The Pauper always lets out a dry, weak wheeze whenever it steals from the player.

It is theorized that the two sacks that the creatures carry are linked to each other. Every time the Pauper steals and throws it in its bag, it is transferred straight to the Prince, who then uses it on others.

-----------------------------------------

These two were enemy ideas I had for some RPG or something, monsters that don't really fight the player, but keep buffing other enemies. The player would then have to decide which to take out first, before the duo tips the favor of the battle.
