The leather you used for the balloon seems pretty flat. See if you can play around with it, give it some tone adjustments at the very least. Try to make it "pop" and be as detailed as the rest of the piece, and this will be very solid. Maybe add anchor points where the cables attach to it, or have ropes that wrap around it. It's just taking up so much space of the painting and is sterile, it's boring.

Oh my god that is simply stunning. My jaw dropped when I saw this! I love pirate ships or old ships of that sort of caliber, but I also love steampunk settings and blimps/airships fall nicely into that category. Definitely faving this!
