Description
It is easier to say, “you will learn once it is all over,” when you’re living in a stable relationship. Haven’t we all struggled to maintain that one relationship that everyone kept telling you was over before it ever begun? It might be hard for you to remember that time. But to some of us, the feeling is all too familiar. Picking your brain for hours on end. Wishing you could find a way to make up for all of your mistakes. The choice to stay was yours…and who could blame you?
The decision was all yours and all looked great from the start. Betrayal never crossed your thoughts. Although that word crossed your peers lips every time you brought up your ‘significant.’ You never thought that you’d be standing alone. Missing the relationship you dreamt was so so right…and haunted with the reality that…love has died.
So you are left picking your brain and tearing at your eyes. Asking out why? “Darling why did you leave me? I’d go to the moon and back for you. I’d give up everything…everything for you. Is there anyone out there that can explain to me why I’m not good enough for her? I did everything to make her happy but somehow in the end it was like I didn’t even exist.”
So you cut it off. Hoping that in the end you were right…you were good enough. Everything you did to make it all work out was noticed and she’d come running back. But all that was left was broken promises. You thought you were just lonely and this beautiful creature was looking for love. It only took some time for the ugliness to come out. “How could she lie in another mans bed the way she used to in mine?” All you wanted was to be her love.
If only you knew she wanted you for just a single night…would you have stayed?
And yet, in the end you betray yourself. When her world comes crashing down. Part of you wants to sit back and watch it burn. The other part of you sees an opportunity to “make it work.” She begs you to fall in again. You think she’s begging. But you’re the one who asks for forgiveness. “Baby, I’m sorry I smothered you. Won’t you please forgive me?”
In the end she will leave you with no one to hold on to. She will shatter and break you. And you’ll go after the same type of people that will do the same. When will it end? When will it end?
