Chapter 3: Johan and Anna II: Surgery Recovery

Another typical day at work, however you noticed that Tenma was acting strange. "Doctor Tenma?"

He looked at you, eyes saddened. "Yes, _____?"

"What's troubling you?"

"There's nothing troubling me!" His eyes showed you completely different, and he let out a chuckle.

"Stop saying that your not fine..." You stood up and walked over to him. "I'll be that shoulder that you need to cry on...." Tenma stood up and looked at you in a different way. "____.... I can't believe that you said something like that to me, but... That means so much.. My ex fiancée dumped me."

"Eva?"

"Yes. It's kinda a shame, but since the directors murder, she ditched me. She only wanted me for money." His eyes started to swell with tears. "I don't think I'll ever be truly loved..."

You clenched your fists. "No!" You looked up at him. "That's not true! Someone loves you! You just have to find that person!"

He nodded, and then he wrapped his arms around you in an embrace. "_____... I know we are doctor and nurse and all, but... Your very special. Your a great person that just showed up in my life."

Then there was a scream coming from the adjacent hallway. "What was that?!"

"That scream... It couldn't be... The twins! I told them not to put them together in the same room!"

Tenma rushed out and you followed him to the room and Tenma was shocked to see Johan and Anna now together. "What the hell is this? Johan was under my care! How dare you put him back with his traumatically damaged sister! It's going to mess with her brain!"

Another doctor stepped forward. "I allowed it. And Inspector Lunge wanted to see a picture of them together."

"Inspector Lunge?"

"Yes..." A tall, rather somewhat scary man came walking in with a black suit on and a red tie. He was starting to bald at the top but it wasn't quite visible. He was doing something weird with his right hand, but no one really paid mind to that. "Doctor Kenzo Tenma?"

"Yes. That is me."

"I am Inspector Lunge from the BKA. I'm here to investigate the series of murders that have been happening since the Director's passing. Do you know anything of these murders?"

Tenma stood up, outraged, but not expressing it. "I'm afraid I don't have the time to discuss this. Let's go, ____. I have some other patients to tend to now."

"Yes, Tenma!" You followed closely behind him.

"I didn't know anything about this.. What's going on Tenma?" You asked him as the both of you were sitting down in his office.

Tenma sighed and looked up at you. " I think honestly that I'm being linked to the murder of the Director. But, why would I even do something like that of all people."

"Tenma..."

He chuckled and smiled with pain; "I'll be fine,_____. Don't worry about me."

I walked over to his side, and looked down at him. "No. Your not fine. I can tell that your hurting inside, Tenma..."

His soft brown eyes went wide and his face showed that of a shocked look.

"______...."

You wrapped your arms around him and held him close. "Even though I'm your underwing, and a nurse, please... Consider me to be your friend."

You felt his arms wrap around your back. He held you tightly as well. "______... Thank you..."

"Your welcome Tenma."

Just as you were about to make a move to tell him your feelings, another doctor came rushing into the office.

"Doctor Tenma!! Nurse ______!"

"What's the matter?" Tenma looked worried.

"The twins! Johan and Anna! They are gone!!!"

"No...! They can't be!"

You and Tenma ran to Johan's room and discovered that he was gone. Same thing with Anna in her room.

Tenma looked at me, almost yelling. "______! Go call the police and tell them to search around for two missing twins! They couldn't have gotten around far!"

"Right!"

---"Help! The monster inside of me is growing!"
