Chapter 4: Some Years Later.. The Return!

Over time, you and Tenma's relationship had grown, and the both of you had become quite a team. Tenma had been promoted to the Head of Surgery Staff, and you had now been bumped up to the head of nursing staff. However, you were still assisting Tenma all the time, which was a bonus for you.

You walked into his office that morning.

"Ah!" A smile spread across Tenma's face. "Good Morning, ______! And how are you this morning?"

"Good. And you Doctor Tenma?"

"Feeling a lot better now that your here."

A blush spread across your cheeks.

"Really? That's very nice of you to say.."

"Well I wouldn't mean it if I didn't say it!" He chuckled and patted your shoulder. "Your blushing."

You only blushed much more.

"Why are you blushing? Are you ill?" He feels your forehead. "N-no!"

"Then why are you-... Oh! I know why your blushing!"

"Shit..."

"You like me, don't you?"

You just stared at him with your (y/n) eyes, rounded wide in shock. Your heart begun to pound fast, and your chest began to hurt slightly.

Tenma leaned in towards you.

"Please. Tell me."

You started to open your mouth to speak when a doctor came in, breaking your words off quickly. "Doctor Tenma! Nurse ____!"

"What is it?"

"Your patient!! Mr.Yonkers has disappeared!"

"No!" Tenma rushed out, you following close after him.

Since it was early morning, the streets were still rather dark.

"Mr.Yonkers!" The both of you yelled out into the night!"

"Doctor Tenma! Please don't come this way!" It was Mr.Yonker's voice.

"Mr.Yonkers!" Tenma started to rush into the dark garage.

"Tenma! Wait!" You put your hand on his shoulder.

"_____...."

"Please... Be careful." You softly kissed his cheek and blushed, looking down, bashful.

"I care about you a lot.. Please don't get injured in anyway."

He blushed and nodded. "I wouldn't get hurt for the world."

He rushed into the garage and continued to holler for Mr.Yonkers.

"I can't just stand here and do absolutely nothing!"

When you saw Tenma, you were worried by his facial expression. Mr.Yonkers stood a slight distance away from him, shaking. "No, Doctor Tenma! Please! Don't come any closer! Or.. Or.. The monster will kill me!"

"Monster? What monster?"

"The one that's.. Standing behind me!"

There was a silhouette of a person behind Mr.Yonkers of a young man. "I can't believe that you don't remember me, Doctor Tenma.. After all, I was that little boy that you saved."

His eyes rounded in shock. "N-No... It can't be... Johan..." He stepped out from the shadows and you and Tenma instantly saw the features that him and Anna both had. "Blond hair and blue eyes. German born.. Classified as "Aryan..."

"Yes. It is I. And this man is of no more use to me. Go die." Mr. Yonkers stood there, shaking more than he was before. Johan then scoffed and pulled out his gun, shooting Mr.Yonkers in the back. Gasping for air as blood began to pour out from the site of the bullet, Tenma felt sickened with the fear that this was going to be his last night alive.

"Can't you save me... Tenma?" Then Johan shot him once more, but this time it was a shot directed to the cranium. Mr.Yonkers died.

"No! Mr.Yonkers!"

"You might want to stay away from me, Doctor Tenma. After all. The Monster inside me... You haven't seen it yet."

"Johan, No!"

Then Johan disappeared into the shadows, and you rushed to Tenma's side.

"Tenma!"

"I thought I told you to stay away..."

"I didn't want you to get hurt.. I wanted to protect you.. When I make a promise to someone or myself...

I keep it. Always."

"______...." He looked at you in your eyes again. You loved that feeling when his soft brown eyes were set on your (y/n) ones. He brought you close to him and held you close to his heart. "Whatever feeling you need to let go, I'm always here to help."

You helped him back to his apartment, while also chatting with him. The pictures that he talked about of him and Eva were now gone. He was over her. "Tenma..."

"What is it, _____?" You sat at his kitchen table with him.

"I think your absolutely the best person that I have ever met in my life."

"Aw! Way to overkill your attempt at being flirtatious with him! Stupid!" You thought as Tenma leaned in to you. "You know what I think?"

"Hm?"

You felt your cheeks turning red.

"Actually no. Scratch that." He chuckled with a smile. "I know this."

"What?" You replied, curious.

"I love you."

You could only feel your rapid heartbeat and then hear Tenma's screaming your name as you passed out.
