Yes I used a base for this but don't get all fussy about it because I'll explain why.

I want to make a series of base drawings ONLY to display the designs of my characters for my Pokemon story. These designs will all be bases to resemble more of Sugimori's art style with my added twist.

BTW, THE FIRST DRAWING IN A LONG TIME USING SAI!!

Now onward about the this. In honor of X and Y being released this year and with everyone all anticipating what's new and what's being added, I decided to make an X and Y design for Sulli in honor of the 6 Gen. Which I shall say "Holy crap!! She's wearing a dress!!?" Yep, despite having much lack of femininity, I made Sulli's design inspired that of the female protagonist of X and Y. This is probably the only design for Sulli in her entire trainer journey where there will be any kind of feminine appeal. Thus as seeing, her physical features have changed as well: She isn't as thin, she's taller, and her hair is a bit longer, puffier and a bit darker. Will I make my story extend to X and Y upon it's release? I have not decided since it's months away but we'll see as more new info comes in. So hope you enjoy this until I release Sulli's design (current design I shall say) for Unova.
