I saw this on the official KSP Facebook. If my understanding is correct, since this was made with KSP, the devs of KSP can use the image on their site.

Amazing, but why on earth does it have liquid hydrogen tanks? I don't see any hydrogen powered engines

Actually plasma is hydrogen powered... Even though the engine on the picture looks like ion engine, but as he said in the description it is plasma, not ion... It's art anyway, why do you give a ... whether the tank is painted orange or purple? As far as i know hydrogen xenon or argon are all about the same and I don't think that there is difference in the fuel tank

And this truely is a Master piece... I have always loved KSP, and when the Official KSP Facebook group showed this, I just had to Fave this!

Very good job!
Solar panels would probably have been shorn off before starting to heat, too much torque
For those who're wondering, www.kerbalspaceprogram.com <- awesome game, very educational.. Before KSP, I did not get orbital mechanics the way I do now.
PS. Would you like to share the ship?

I thought KSP when I saw the design too! Lol The burnup effect, and the bend of the solar panels... it's all magnificent! It's painful to watch the destruction of such a lovely Ion-probe, but it's pretty.

Took only 2 hours to model it to be honest ! The whole image took about 2 days I think, so rougly 10 hours or something ?
I was expecting it to take more time but I had a more complex image in mind at first.
