ten people ten faces in the flash of the sun. set up the breakdown and follow the schedule that lets arrive at the end. The end that we wanted to see and the end that we were afraid would come. This is the end that we thought up in the back of our heads and always imagined we would want but imagined we would never have. The lights and the glamour and the all night parties. The drugs and the drinks oh and the sex. The dresses the shoes the lack of total responsibility. No one would complain and no one would get out alive. This is not where we ended up this is the dream that we sought out and never received. The prize has not been won. To further this delusion we have also imagined a true sort of love. The butterflies in the stomach, nervousness, anxiety ridden true love that we all imagine but does not seem to exist. With every step that we get a little closer we lose it and end up ten steps back. The heartache is the only thing that comes out of it with a little bit of worth. The knowledge that you will be hurt again. The pain will return so be happy for the time that you are not a wreck. For the time that you are not a pile at the end of the stairs that needs taking care of. Your mother will not always be there and neither will the girl next door. You will need to learn to fix your own mistakes and care for hurt in your own ways. There will be days of utter loneliness and hopelessness but we are already all too familiar with those. Thinking this is the be all end all of love and that this will be the way it is until the end of time is ripped from your pretty little head in an instant. The distance is not the hard part. The images in your head are the issue. Longest vacation you have ever taken from the one you thought to be the end of your life.
