Another of my sci-fi uploads. Decided to make a cheap assault rifle the kind pirates and rebel factions would use. Took a lot of inspiration from the AK-47, G3A3 and the FN FAL. Opinions, suggestions and feedback welcome!

Originally developed by a Russian mercenary group in the early days of humanity's colonisation of garden worlds. The Krokodil's primary role was a cheap and effective firearm for the mercenary troops to defend small colonies that their subjective companies, and sometimes governments were either unable or unwilling to pay better protection costs for. The weapon was also the frontline weapon of multiple factions during the Expansion War, where widespread violence broke out after a "Gold Rush" for garden worlds and mining rights that eventually led to Humanity forming a global government. However, after the war the weapon was still popular within the colonies, with most colonial militias being supplied with them in case of attack by slavers or pirate groups.
The Krokodil is still one of the cheapest and most reliable weapons currently available in the galactic arms market, and is commonplace among mercenaries, criminal gangs, rebel factions, pirates and slavers. However the weapon is still popular among lawful factions as well, still being found in colonial militias, security firms and personal civilian firearms. The estimated number of KSRs currently in use numbers in the tens of billions. Which is unsurprising given the weapons cheap, yet incredibly durable parts and ammunition.
