Description
Robyn gasped eagerly, but J held her back from walking forward with a strong arm. “Belt up... We don’t know what’s behind that door...” he whispered, then slowly walked froward. The door was rusting, and one of the hinges looked as if it was about to fall into dust. J reached for the handle, and clicked it open.
A blinding light poured into the room, more light than either of them had seen in years. Robyn covered her eyes protectively, her skin feeling oddly itchy.
J, on the other hand, ignored the brightness and opened the door fully, flooding the surrounding area with light.
There was a chorus of pained, monstrous moans Robyn was sure that came from some deformed monster this hellish place had created.
“It’s...” J began, as he peered into the room. It was pure white. Not a speck of color... Anywhere.
The plainness was almost sickening and painful to look at, doubling that of what you’d expect a foot of fresh, clean snow to look like.
In the corner, rested a small, almost seemingly child size straight jacket. J stepped into the room, and breathed out slowly.
He put his head back, and then saw something strange.
A man, with a scratchy, thin looking five o’ clock shadow goatee and dark, midnight blue hair to his jaw.
His skin was tan, but paling from lack of sunlight over the years. Blood, and other grime and dirt coated the man from head to toe.
Piercings littered his face, some oddly enough starting to rust, and some with just a bit of dirt on them. J smiled slowly, staring at his own reflection.
He hadn’t seen himself in five years... And he looked completely, and utterly monstrous.
But, in the Aussie’s vocabulary, “monstrous” was “beautiful”. “Robyn, love... Look... He’s hideous, isn’t he?” J cooed, running his hand along his jaw as he stared up at the mirror ceiling.
Robyn remained silently, studying what she now looked like after all those years. She just looked like a dirty, older version of herself, nothing more or less...
But J seemed so mesmerized by how he looked. How long did he say he’d been here, again?
Robyn looked around the room, seeing nothing but the now closed door they had entered and the small straight jacket in the corner.
“I wonder what this place is.” she whispered, speaking at a normal volume seemingly just too loud.
On that note, why was there just a deafening silence?
J sighed, seemingly content and walked over casually to the straight jacket, picking in up in his hands.
“Oh... Hello, friend...” J whispered, hugging the jacket to his chest. He inhaled quietly, smiling sadistically.
Robyn narrowed her eyes in confusion, and jumped in fear as static sounded throughout the room.
“Hello.” a female voice sounded, seemingly recorded and mechanical.
“Welcome to stage one, project ‘Siren song’”.
J glanced up curiously, still hugging the jacket to his chest.
“Stage one of ‘Siren song’ commencing, Dr. Alejandor Jonson supervision, Synthetic Humans shall be terminated until further notice.” the voice chimed.
J raised an eyebrow, and Robyn trembled. “Stage one? What are they talking about?!” she asked, looking around in panic.
“Calm down, love, please. It’s going to be worse if you panic...” J cooed, secretly enjoying this image of Robyn in such a state of shock and fear.
Then there was a click. “Please, exit and further directions will be given.” the metallic voice called.
J sighed deeply in agitation, then put the straight jacket under his arm comfortably.
“Come now, sheila, we don’t have much time.” he murmured, more annoyed than frightened.
Robyn followed J slowly through the door, as he led them blindingly through the dark. Robyn whimpered quietly, but held everything back.
She swore she was going as insane as J.
J sighed quietly to himself as he walked, eying the girl behind him who followed like a scared, lost puppy.
A small smile spread across his lips, and he chuckled, barely audible.
She had followed his siren song...
