Description Days later, after multiple talks with therapists said he was fine, Brett was let out of the hospital to finally go to school. Brett sighed, getting out of bed as the alarm clock let out an annoying ring. He stopped it, getting dressed quickly. His stepmother came upstairs and knocked. "Come in!" Brett called, energetic and rested. He smiled. Druid had come to see him everyday, feeding him, talking with him, being a friend. Brett didn't talk about to notebook, but he would today. If Druid was there. "Ah! Someone's better." his stepmother smiled. "But if you start to feel bad... Just call me, okay? Your father had to go back to work today.". Brett's father would be gone for days at a time at work. Brett nodded, before waving a goodbye and awaiting the bus outside. Moments later, it arrived with a whoosh of hot exhaust. Brett loaded into the bus, trying not to look at the old man driving the bus. Brett stopped in the middle of the isle with a groan. Druid was sitting in the back, grinning his widest, patting a seat beside him. Brett smiled a bit, before he heard a voice shout his name. "Brett! Come sit here!" Jared called, looking over a seat. Brett glanced back, but walked reluctantly to sit with Druid. Brett felt guilty at the look on Jared's face, but Jared just frowned, turning back to Dante. "W-what are you doing at my school?" Brett asked, looking over at the pale haired boy. "You're my Follower... It's against the vampire rules to leave you alone for too long. Besides... I need to protect you from Thane and Vladimir.. They kinda want to eat you." Druid gave Brett a sheepish grin. Brett rolled his eyes. "They wouldn't come looking for me... " Brett grumbled with a sigh. "H-hey... Druid?" Brett began, looking away. "Yes?" Druid replied smoothly, a content smile on his face. "Well... One of my friends showed m-" Brett was interrupted by a girl leaning up to him. "Hiya Brett... I heard you were in the hospital. I bet you looked so cute, all innocent looking!" she smiled a toothy grin, before leaning away again. Brett sighed, turning back to Druid, who was hiding a cold glare. "What was that?" Druid hissed, Brett could see his fangs popping out. "C-calm down... Just a little pity flirting." Brett said, giving a nervous smile. "Pity flirting?" Druid spit, looking quizzical. "Yeah, it happens to all the guys." Brett said, chuckling lightly. Druid only smiled a little. "What were you saying?" Druid asked, but before Brett could continue, the bus stopped, making everyone get to class. Brett left, followed by Druid to the auditorium. They climbed the steep stairs, bursting into room full of newly arrived kids. They sat down beside each other, Druid looked over at Brett again. "What is it you wanted, again?" he asked, annoyed. Brett sighed in frustration. "Sorry, I forgot." he mumbled, stretching his arms out. Druid said nothing, but he looked in his bag. He frowned, digging around. "What is it?" Brett asked, frowning, looking over at him. "N-nothing... I just forgot something." he said, sighing in clear anger. Brett smirked quietly, before the loud, shrieking noise of the bell rang out, telling the students to go to class. Brett walked outside into the hall, followed by Druid who caught his shoulder. "Listen, I don't have any of your classes, so meet me in the bathroom at lunch. I'll give you something to drink." Druid gave a mischievous smile and laughed, heading in the opposite direction of Brett. Brett walked into class, sitting down by Jared like he always does, but not greeted by him this time. "H-hey man...?" Brett said, looking at the short boy. "What the hell was that? Sitting with that... weirdo?" Jared hissed, his voice laced in venom as he looked over at Brett. "What? I can't have other friends?" Brett said, frowning. "Friends who draw pictures of you drinking blood like some goth vampire? I thought you didn't know him!" Jared yelled, his face red. Brett murmured something, causing Jared to yell, "What?!?!". Brett looked at him, yelling, "He's not goth!"
