Description "He's not a weirdo either..." Brett growled, picking up his things and moving to the back. The whole class was staring at the two, awaiting Jared's next move. "What is he then, huh Brett?! Tell me!" he cried, as Brett could see his face was reddening and he was about to cry. Brett sighed deeply, knowing he would loose his friends with these next words. "My best friend." he said sternly, looking down. Brett glanced up, seeing Jared stricken, as hot tears boiled in his eyes. "Fine." he hissed, turning back to Dante. Dante glanced back at Brett, before turning back to Jared for comfort. Brett sighed deeply, just patiently waiting for this day to end. Brett went through extra-curriculum classes quietly, before walking into Mrs. Yarrow's class again. Jared shot a glare at Brett, before sitting with Dante. Brett sighed, feeling horribly for saying that, but it was the truth. After a long, agonizing hour of class, it was finally time for the next class and lunch. Finally, when the time came, Brett rushed off to the bathroom. He smiled, seeing Druid leaning against a sink. "C'mon." Druid said, dragging Brett into a stall. "Ow! Don't pull me so hard!" Brett squealed in protest. A familiar laugh rang out, and Brett peeked his head out. "Brett, what the hell are you doing?" Jared asked, narrowing his eyes. "Nothing, go away!" Brett said, before Druid peeked his head out past Brett. "Oh. Hello there." Druid said, giving a small smile to Jared. "Oh, so you're the asshole who Brett's all buddy buddy with now?" Jared glared at the boy huddled past Brett. "What are you two..." Jared stopped, grinning, then leaving. "What's he talking about, Brett?" Druid asked, before Brett rushed off. "Wait, Brett!" Druid called, running after him. Brett just ran after Jared, grabbing his bony shoulder. "Jared, nothing was going on!" Brett yelled, looking down at the blonde boy. "Oho yea? Then what happened?! I mean, damn Brett, I used to be your best friend!" Jared yelled, seeing Druid appear around the corner. A growl erupted from Jared's throat, as he shoved past Brett, running at and tackling Druid. Druid yelled out in surprise, taking punches as he let out a small moan in pain. Brett ran over quickly, dragging Jared off of Druid. Jared, got up quickly, running off so he wouldn't be caught. Brett kneeled down beside Druid, as Druid felt his bleeding nose and lip. "To be so small... He packs a punch" Druid said, laughing. Brett smiled, wiping a large amount of blood off Druid face. He grinned, lapping it off of his fingers. Druid smirked, "Gross. That came out of my nose.". Brett only laughed, "And? I'm starving..." Druid laughed, as they returned to the bathroom. Brett grinned, digging his aching fangs into Druid's smooth skin. He finally finished drinking, blood running off his chin carelessly. The two said their goodbyes, and Brett cleaned up, returning to class. After a treacherous day of school, he and Druid finally loaded the bus, sitting together and talking. All the while accepting cold glares from Jared. The two were dropped off at Brett's house. As soon as Brett entered the house, his stepmother greeted him with a kiss on the forehead. "Er... Jennifer?" Brett said, trying to show her Druid. "Oh, please! Call me mom!" she said, then finally noticed the strange looking Druid. "Oh... Hello." she said pleasantly, smiling. "You must be one of Brett's friends!" she said excited, admiring his silver hair and shining crimson eyes. "Best friend" he corrected, grinning widely like a small child. "Come on, Dru- I mean Drake!" Brett called, dragging him upstairs. "Why did you call me Drake?" Druid asked once they were inside. "L-look, my dad thinks Druid is some imaginary person, so when he finds out he's real, he'll wanna know why I was yelling for you." Brett poked his friend's chest, smirking. Druid nodded, before grinning. "Hey... Brett..." Brett rolled his eyes, "What?". "You're my best friend!" Druid said, grinning widely. "And...?" Brett smirked. Druid smiled sadly. "I've never had one of those before."
