Brett grinned, “Good, because I can’t” he let out a chuckle. “Ooh, today’s Friday. Do you er... wanna come over?” Brett asked, smiling slightly. Druid nodded, “Don’t even ask, just start walking away. I’ll always be with you.” he smiled, standing slowly with Brett. The black haired boy shook his head, sighing quietly. “You creep...” he murmured, grinning and walking from the cemetery, Druid close behind. They soon arrived at Brett’s home, the sun slowly rising as he had lost track of time. Brett opened the door, Druid still following as he shut it behind him. Jennifer was awake, pacing in the kitchen, holding Brett’s cell phone and the house phone. “Brett! Drake...?” she yelled, running up to Brett and hugging him tightly. “Where have you been!? I found your room in shambles, there was blood, and you weren’t there! Brett, where have you been!!?” she had been crying, her eyes red and tears stains down her cheeks. Druid smiled, “Oh, Mrs. Jennifer... Brett accidentally cut his arm, and he was too embarrassed to say anything... so he came to me.” Druid smiled, but Jennifer seemed to only half believe that. “Then what happened to your room!? You know what your father said! Never run away again!” she sobbed. “Jenny, I’m okay...” Brett murmured, hugging her. “Perfectly okay.” he murmured, gently pushing her away. Druid smiled, “Yes. I fixed him up well.” he chuckled, placing a hand on Brett’s shoulder. Jennifer sniffled, then nodded. “Thank God you’re okay!” she said, smiling widely at Druid. “Thank you so much, Drake.” she murmured, hugging the silverette tightly. Druid smiled, “It’s fine... I care about Brett a lot.” he muttered, then his eyes went wide. Jennifer chuckled, “I know...” she nodded to the boys, then walked to the stairs. “Oh, and Brett... Your dad came home last night. He wants to see you- and Drake -immediately after he wakes up.” she flashed another smile, then walked upstairs. Brett smirked, “D’aww, you care about me ‘a lot’.” he laughed, then collapsed onto the couch. Druid raised an eyebrow, then fell beside him. “So, what did happen in your room, huh?” he asked, poking his friend with his foot. “I saw my mom again... and... lost it...” he whispered, looking down with a sigh. Druid frowned, giving him a sympathetic look. “It’s okay, Brett..” he murmured, offering a reassuring smile. Brett shrugged, “I wish I could believe that...” he muttered, then flashed a look at Druid. “What do you mean by, ‘I care about Brett a-” he was interrupted by a thump. Someone came down the stairs, and then Brett and Druid were greeted by a sleepy looking older version of Brett. Brett’s father, Ryan, smiled at the boys, wearing a white tee shirt and jeans. “Brett, and...” he thought for a second, then nodded, “Drake, right? This must be him.” Ryan smiled, walking over to them. “Welcome home dad... This is Drake, my... friend.” he grinned at him and Druid smiled politely. “Hello, Mr. Pierce. I’m Drake Foxwood, a friend of your sons’.” he sat up a bit straighter. Brett rolled his eyes, “Drake, stop it.” he chuckled, shoving the silver headed boy. “What? I’m being polite...” he grinned, poking the younger boy’s chest. Ryan grinned, “I’m just happy Brett found a friend. He’s had a rough one...” he murmured, looking at his son. Brett murmured something, shrugging. Druid grinned, “I know. That just makes me looiike him more.” he glanced down sheepishly. Ryan didn’t seem to catch it, but Brett once again did and cast a look at Druid. “Well, you boys sit tight. I’m going to make breakfast..” he said, walking into the kitchen. Brett smiled and chuckled, “My dad likes to cook.” Druid smirked, before a look washed over him. Brett frowned, and asked hesitantly, “What’s wrong?” Druid frowned, biting his bottom lip. “Nothing, just thinking.” he grinned, then shoved Brett off the couch. He landed with a thump and groaned, laughing. Druid stood and smirked, then tore off and up the stairs. He yelled, laughing, “Catch me if you can!”
