In this Alternate Marvel Universe Rora is a sentient energy being that exists in the form of a starship and currently serves as the travel vehicle of the Spartoi noble Jasun Quill Ogord aka Star Lord and his companions, the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Untold centuries ago Rora first came into being as a sentient star. She watched her planets grow and change, and eventually evolve life. One day, a race of beings known as the Ariguans arrived and wiped out the inhabitants of her planets, then caused her to explode, wiping out what life remained, and destroying all of the planets in her solar system. Her essence was gathered by a being calling himself the Master of the Sun who bonded it to her current “living metal” form and proceeded to link with her new form and use her in his crusade against the Ariguans.

Rora would later learn that the Master of the Sun was himself a renegade member of the Ariguans named Ragnar who opposed the xenophobic “purification” campaign that the Ariguans had in engaged against lesser civilizations, with the destruction of Rora’s original sun form and solar system being victims of this campaign. Ragnar and his fellow Ariguans would eventually destroy each other during a final confrontation which freed Rora from the Master’s service. Rora roamed through space for an unknown length of time exploring and learning about various star systems and civilizations until her chance encounter with Jasun Quill Ogord. Sensing in Ogord a kindred soul, she chooses to empathically link with him and serve as his new vessel in his exploration sojurns into space. Rora now serves as both his war vessel and tactical council in his battle as Star Lord to end the reign of his uncle Korvac Ogord, who has usurped control of the Spartoi Empire from Jasun’s father, Stakar Ogord, the Spartoi warrior known as Starhawk.

Rora can alter her starship form at will as well as travel through space, planetary atmospheres and water. She possesses many advanced starship accessories, including shields, various types of energy weapons, advanced sensors, replicators (which provide any kind of necessities such as food, drink, clothing and tools), and hologram projectors. Rora possesses a level of telepathic ability. Her empathic link with Star Lord is a manifestation of this telepathic ability. Rora primarily communicates with Star Lord through their telepathic link and can communicate with others through various sound or radio technology. Rora also possesses the ability to render herself invisible to living beings and all forms of advanced sensor technology. Rora is able to regenerate any damaged areas of her starship form if any forms of attack are able to penetrate her defensive shields. The length of regeneration time varies with the extent of damage she sustains. If Rora’s starship form is completely destroyed, she is capable of restoring herself , since her true form is her consciousness.

Rora usually manifests a holographic human form when directly interacting with Star Lord and other beings that she transports. Rora creates Widgets; small, mobile droids able to scout out situations, gather information, and then return to her. They act as her physical extensions outside of her starship form. Rora is capable of creating a fully functioning humanoid form for herself to interact with others but the amount of energy and focus needed to occupy both the humanoid form and maintain her starship form is taxing so she only employs this tactic on rare and extreme occasions as necessary.
