If it's got a big tail like that it's male. I live in Wisconsin and in a very farmland part of it. A lot of farmers (more likely their wives) usually end up with at least one albino. Still, very stunning shot.

Well, it'll take a while for you to find one, then. albino animals spend much of their time hiding from the sun, so they won't be hurt by it's rays, and by animals who see that it sticks out like a sore thumb.

No, not in a habitat situation. Peafowl reside mostly in India... and zoos.

that is not true ---- peacocks are by no means endangered or even threaten. In many countries you can even hunt them legally because they breed like crazy ---- they are a very adaptive bird and have become a pheryl species all over the world in unnative countries. They're tons of growing populations of wild peacocks all over the Southeast USA, and up the West coast of the USA --- i'm sure they can be found in England just the same, either by wild populations that were accidentally introduced, or farm raised, you can even own one as a pet legally - their species has expanded world wide.

.....besides, they might be abundunt in India, but they **originated** in INDONESIA, not india

please, do not belittle people with information when you don't truely know what your talking about

but anyhoo........aside from my rudely putting you in your place on someone elses page -- This piece is a gorgeous piece. Nice lighting, beautiful subject, and great composition ^_^ (excuse me freako, this is a fantastic piece......i just hate pointless unecessary lying, didn't mean to junk up your piece's page )

I wasn't belittling,. I was stating what I THOUGHT was correct, sorry for being wrong. I wasn't lying, no need to dump that accusation on me. I was mislead on a few websites.

albino and white peacocks aren't as uncommon as people think --- most Zoo's around the country will feature at least one albino/white peacock. We've got several of them at the Atlanta Zoo
