Chara and Asriel are sharing a dream, and they're talking to each other. Neither one knows what Dream Eaters are, so neither one was expecting Riku to show up. And of course, he's in his Dream Eater form.
Chara's still worried about the possibility of being controlled, particularly by somebody with dark powers. But she hasn't gotten further than that mentally, so she just wants to hide and pretend she doesn't exist anymore.
