Confession time: I cracked up five times while drawing this page. Something about Ansem doing one of Sora's funny faces just got to me, even if it is in character for Riku.
So, I have a theory about the whole "memory erasure" thing: Namine told Riku at the end of Chain of Memories that she could seal his memories away to keep Ansem from affecting his heart. I think that Xehanort did the same thing to himself at the end of Birth By Sleep to keep Terra from influencing him from within, but it backfired because he lost almost all of his memories, at least until Ansem the Wise was testing him.
Chara could try something similar, but it wouldn't be helpful in the long run.
