After spending nearly the last four years in school doing Graphic Design you tend to encounter the spinning wheel of death on a Mac once or Twice .... er hmmm. LoL. I just had to make this when I got the idea ... even though this poster has been done to death.

Wait what? Mac? Crashes? Oh, boy. I don't remember my W7 crashing. Well, of course, there was Maya and programs I've written.
I'm sorry if it fells like I'm just trying to rub it in, but what I'm trying to say is that the programs crash the computer, not the OS.

So true XD Thankfully I haven't had to do that many times myself, but it's still annoying when my precious Mac decides "Oh fyi, I'm gonna be a jerk"

The beach balls' dance of death, or whatever you peeps call it, must be one of the worst things to ever happen to me during a photoshop session. I just use the force quit, and in very rare cases of extreme trouble, the power switch. My mac rarely hangs or freezes though

Usually it works through the pinwheel ... but yes there have been just a couple time when I had to do a hard power down in the last 8 months Been a reliable machine though

I love my Mac to death, but the spinning wheel of death is just a pain in my arse. xD
I hit the Force Quit button at least once a week... during a good week

its linux code... you open a terminal and type "sudo kill -9 PROGRAM_ID" and it dies for good... thats if force quit doesn't work

I don't use mac often, so I have yet to encounter the Pinwheel of death.
But I have heard rumors. xD
But now I know what to do if I do encounter it!

It is actually rare that I have a hardcore problem but it does happen ... a computer will always have some kind of issue if you push it far enough.

I...HATE...Macs! Hate them and hate it when they make us use them. I don't like them for other reason (such as non-economical, no ability to truly customize...etc.). So...this...this I like cause it shows other mac users suffer, too.

Ah... And about customization. Have you ever had a Mac? I have a Macbook Pro and iMac. I have customized both of them. I installed 8GB of Ram DDR3 on both, a SSD on MacBook Pro.
What about Mac Pro? Fully customizable, RAM, PCI 2.0 Express, 4 HD bays. Easy installation :S.
You better read a little bit about Mac :S.

I've had a mac and I've had nothing but trouble with it when I had it. Couldn't run Maya and Flash or Photoshop and After Effects at the same time without it crashing on me every time. I mean every time. I couldn't open it up and do anything with it unless I went back to the Mac store and spent an arm and a leg on parts and then have to deal with the Mac crew always saying "You'll void your warranty you'll void your warranty" and then telling me I have to pay them another arm and a leg (living me limb less) so that THEY could put the extra parts in it.
Look, the only good thing I got out of my mac was picture quality and resolution. Other then that it always, always, always crashed. It was apin getting programs on it and then being able to USE those programs. It was brand new. Brand new I tell you! And within the two years I had it I had to take it in 6 times to get it fixed cause something would go wrong.
My biggest beef with that stupid mac was the inability it had to run multiple programs at the same time.
I now have a PC and I have ran Photoshop, AfterEffects AND Maya all at the same time multiple times without any crashing or stalling or ANYTHING!
Sorry, dude. There's a reason a lot of people don't have Macs. And I personally found out exactly why that was so.
Not to mention how utterly expensive they are and you have to get all your mac parts from mac stores because trust me...buying from an "alternative" source only gets me into much more trouble then I already experienced.
I hate Macs personally because they've done nothing but give me problems.

Not everyone. Robb Epps was one of my bosses at a multimedia editing agency in Tampa and all his computers that we used were PC. I can also say I met someone from Pixar (I truly forgot his name. I just remember he was black and always wore a hat) and he uses a PC in his personal office. Me, personally. I'm an animator (although I work on odd projects and haven't been contracted in...forever) I work on a PC and haven't worked on a MAC since the first one. It wasn't that old, either. It was a 2004.

Look, I understand where you're coming from with you MACtivism. But I hate MAC;'s and I'm sorry you disagree but it is what it is.
Also, maybe I mistyped but The guy who worked for PIXAR said he preferred PC's and he always used PC's so that's coming from someone who worked there. I didn't mean to make it seem like I was saying PIXAr only uses PC's. Look, of course 2004 is an old MAC now before that's the past and I used it is the past. Regardless of anything I did not enjoy my MAC at all and prefere PC's. I just think MAC's are terrible.
I actually have used MAC's recently as well for school projects and it's funny how all the animation teachers hate it when the school board schedules the classes in the MAC labs. So I don't know what you mean by "All multimedia editors use MACs" because my teachers apparently hate them, too. Look, all and all I should never have mentioned my hatred for MAC's. I should have known someone was going to be like "You're lame! MAC's rock".
My fault on that one.

Windows uses ddls and Linux is unstable.

No, I suffered much more with a MAC then I do with my PC. I can't even imagine WHY I got a MAC in the first place. I should have listened to the online reviews and all the people telling me not to get a Mac but I thought "No, Mac's are cool. Mac users swear by them". But then I learned why Mac's suck. They are completely incapable of running multiple programs at the same time without crashing and that's even AFTER upping the RAM. I put so much extra crap on that darn Mac and it still wouldn't comply. It was a HUGE waste of money and time till I finally sold it off for scraps of bread cause I had sold an arm and a leg to get the stupid thing in the first place.

Hahahahaha Crashing? Im a programmer and Multimedia Editor. Im running right now Pro Tools HD 9, Final Cut Pro 7, Colors, After Effects CS5, cinema 4D, iTunes, Chrome, Firefox, iCal, Twitter Client. I haven't had any crash
.
Maybe you got an old Mac . I use Windows too and that crashes every time, even with a Core i7 Overclock @ 4.xGhz. Linux is good, but is so incompatible.
They are more capable to run multitasking than Windows . You need to learn more about Unix based systems
.

You really need to not be so butthurt over my comment. It seems your taking this personally. I hate MACS. It wasn't an old one. I used it is 2004 till 2006. It always crashed on me. That's that. Calm down, okay. I didn't mean to offend you. I just hate MACs and my PC never crashed where as my MAC always, always crashed. Sorry. It is what it is. Stop being butthurt and saying
"You should learn more about this and that" cause if you google MAC reviews it's all hate and not a lot of like, okay. Sorry if you're butthurt that I hate MAC's. Some people like um, some people don't. You obviously like yours. Mine sucked ass. My PC never fails where my 2004 Mac failed and failed and failed.

Look, what you need to understand is I'm not being butt hurt. I made thge comment that I hate MAC's cause I've only had nothing but problems with them. Actually, since my last comment on here I had the misfortune of having to use a MAC Lion (I think that's what he called it) for a project I was doing at a hospital. They wanted me to show them how I post-produced the commercial I did for them and they only had that MAC. It was pretty and it sure looked good but once I opened up After Effects (I had photoshop open first) the friggin' thing CRASHED! I looked at Mark and said "This always happens to me" and he thought that maybe if we waited a while it would start working again. Half an hour later it was still frozen.
So, based on my experience with a newer MAC I still hold to my first comment in that I never have any luck with them.
I understand how all the "I MAC" people like yourself can be so butt hurt that I said I don't like MAC's but really...get off your pedestal.
Not everyone likes to play games and work on only one program at a time. That's how I see MAC's. They only work when you're working slow. I can't ever work fast with a MAC because for some reason they can never work fast enough for me. I'm familiar enough with MAC to know how to use one but I hate that I have to take things slow with them.

Sooo true. The only time you really should panic is when the screen randomly goes black, the keyboard lights are still on, and when you close it the apple icon still glows.
Though that can be fixed by pressing the power button for more than 3 (or more) seconds.
No, I guess the time for real panicking is when your beloved mac is exposed to the elements. Or element. Water, or any form of liquids. They aren't good friends.
