Alban is born a purple dragon but unlike Malefor and Spyro, he was born in the Mirror realm and worked as a scripture/writer.

under Malefor's reign, the Mirror realm was also hit hard and many of the monsters who normally lived with the secret purple dragons was released and the mirror realm have turned unstable with all the Groblings messing around the common world and the Mirror world.

Alban left his home when it got too dangerous and he hid himself as a ice dragon(only other purple dragons can see his true scale colours) and he have lived in Darkon village ever since.
