Description A picture I've been hoping to get for awhile and finally managing to see it become a reality! Featureing the four main characters of Gilm who have shown up in the stories so far! The silly sketch for this picture shall be in scraps.

Done by the super great and recommended;

Some extra information about the clan itself can be found here;

But some basic info about the Skaven in the image I shall put here! For story purposes I tend to say that Gilm has existed as a clan proper for six-seven years before the 'now' of Farseers Tails.

- Furthest left we have Blackfur Kekkan Ironback (Four years old), one of the small amount of Stormvermin that Gilm has Kekk has proven to be very dedicated to not only Gilms peculiar armament but also to the clan itself. As a small not war focused clan Gilm has a lot valuable information and reports that many clans would be eager to have for free. Or just to make those Gilm into slaves for easy work. To try and combat this from happening to them the Gilm Stormvermin train to fight with a large spiked shield rather than the standard halberd. The spikes can be removed if needed for easier transport. The are still often trained in swordplay but the shield is too large to be use effectively with a sword. The sword is often just carried as a backup and tends to be shorter than standard blades as well. But the large two handed shield has proven its worth in holding back many hostiles eager to get past the Stormvermin. And other Stormvermin or Gilm can then help push the enemies back by all pushing the shield forward, driving the front spike into the enemies. The bottom spike for grounding the weapon easier and also for swinging into enemies that have been downed or into feet. Kekkan also often spends his time 'training' the other Skaven of Gilm. He does a good job training them for sure but often after a lesson Kekkan has his own fun with picking up, squeezing, and throwing the trainee around. Never to any permeant damage but just for his own enjoyment. Hes often seen walking around Gilm with a clanrat or slave over his shoulder who he has choked into unconsciousness. Just his own way of showing his love to his fellow Gilm.

- Left middle we have Word Chief/Chief Word (Eight years old), the piebald Chieftain and founder of Gilm. A former Chieftain in clan Mange who after a disastrous raid into Bretonnia left Mange and decided to try and make something better. Somewhere where he and his few survivors would look out for each other because it had just been shown to him that no-one else would. To this end over almost a year he worked to record and catalogue his campaign experience and sell it to others going into the same areas. And eventually he and the initial clan members were able to gather enough tokens to buy themselves a breeder and thus make themselves a clan. Despite the robe he often wears the few that interact with Chief will see that he still wears Gauntlets and likely still has armor under it. As he is unwilling to allow possible enemies the chance to destroy what he has worked so hard to build. Unfortunately for the clan itself this lack of forgiveness is also shown to them. And clanrats, Stormvermin, or slaves that damage Gilm or its work will very often be killed by his own hand. Thankfully this is a rare occurrence as he works to instill some loyalty and work ethics into his rats. He had a proper name before but since leaving Mange he has left it behind and often covers his face with a hood so Mange cant figure out who he is to try and re-hire him. Or kill him. Thankfully so far Mange doesn't seem to care. All the constant scroll reading and writing however has dimmed Chiefs eyesight, but thankfully glasses exist to overcome that flaw, and even more hide his face. But he still uses the War pick that he used while working for Mange, the head broken in half during the Bretonnia raid, that Chief has repaired with a stone tablet that he's inscribed a manta on so he doesn't forget it. And so those whose head he is about to crush have some reading material for their final seconds.

- Right middle is the big eared mainboi of Gilm Enket Farseer (Three years old), not the only scout of Gilm but quickly becoming one of the most popular. At least according to the various Seers who have recently asked for him by name for their various errands. Trained and raised by Chief and the other older Gilm scouts Enket has proven to be an excellent example of the Gilm clan as a whole. Hard working, subservient, clever, lucky, and able to squeak-chitter good. Not only to other Skaven, especially Seers recently, but also to no-furs. Perhaps he doesn't realize the hate and danger he is in but so far at least him attempting to voice rather than stab toward those on the other side of Chaos has surprised them enough for Enket to complete his mission. Though what this is doing to his Skaven outlook on the world is unsure. Seeing far closer than most other Skaven how other races of the world operate and are successful. How they care for each other and don't stomp over each other for advantages. How they build rather than steal. Surely he will be able to hold onto what The Horned One demands of his children.

- Far right is the newest addition to Gilm, the Skavenslave Voch (Three and a half years), who at least didn't change profession between his old clan and now. A former Slave to a Skryre Thrall clan Voch was one of the few survivors when his former Engineer bosses experiment was fatally sabotaged. He never did find out who did it. One of the other Slaves? Another Engineer? A separate clan? His right front tooth knocked out of his mouth from a bit of flying debrie but really he got off lucky. But he was hauled from the crater that was left behind and like the two other survivors were blamed for the failure and so thrown onto one of the many slave stages in Blight for selling. For food, for work, for anything for only a few tokens! It was during this purchasing process that Voch first saw and then subsequently met Chief Word who purchased him. Informing the prostrating Slave that he always was on the lookout for Slaves who could write. Because writing is what he would be doing a lot of. After all Warhammer doesn't have copy machines. So the reports and information the scouts bring in needs to be copied dozens of times so it can be sold. In addition to this Voch does cleaning work around Gilm and occasionally using his former Engineering skills to fix up doors or other devices that need some touch up. Compared to his old clan this is a much nicer arrangement so he has just smiled and nodded when given work to do. This has given him a few boons compared to other Gilm slaves and has even gotten him the chance to do assignments for Gilm. Recently being 'promoted' as it were to wear the Gilm colors and work with Kekkan to deliver Skaven to be a meal for Kritch Deeptaker. He did this well and will likely be sent out again soon - and may even be promoted again potentially to Scout if he proves adept at further outside work.

Hope you all like the art and the lil info about the rattos. Hopefully I'll be able to bring you more stories later but with some Steel and Song things in between too!
