Description
A few weeks into Shade's journey with his new family (following the Conjunction), he finally decides it's time to move on and get a new weapon.
Having mourned Bartholomew for a short while, he can't deny the emptiness he feels in his hands when walking around without a trident.

Shade easily bests a young Drowned and takes its weapon; a worn out, broken trident with all three of its tips chipped off.
The wizard takes the object and spends days carefully repairing it, restoring it to its full glory.
As a symbol of power, regality and life, Shade seals emerald to the weapon to forge new, very sharp tips to its fork, and seals some of the cracks using the same gemstone.
Many mistake this for a show of wealth or class, but for Shade, the meaning is more personal.
On each side of the trident he also has two whole (but small) emeralds imbedded.

Shade feels the trident has feminine energy, and given its more thin, short, lithe and oddly sinister nature, he names it "Princess."
Princess quickly gains a minor consciousness of its own and serves Shade as a marvelous conduit for his power.
In the future, he will use Princess to intentionally take the life of a person for the very first time.
Finding the act to be justified based on circumstance, he will feel little remorse.~
