This used to a bio pic, but not anymore.Sorry!
*not entirely happy with the full body pic* It's...it's hard making new designs, ok?
Also his robe is not supposed to be skin tight, i wanted him to fit on the page so i made him sit down and you all know how gravity works, so...
(this next bit of text will be copied to the new bio pic to re-explain why i designed Tsar in my own way.)
Ahem, anyway!
Ever since i first heard of it from those fun NASA pics, i had my own idea of what the man in the moon must have looked like.
My interpretations were influenced by that infamous shadow figure on the moon looking tall and thin and bald, so...i went with that!
The Guardians of Childhood also depicted him as...sort of bald with a single white hair, which cracks me up XD
But that had him short and stubby -- which is cute, but he looked nothing like i had always envisioned and let's face it, when you have a set-in-stone idea of something it's hard to change it.
And you all know of course that i prefer the movie version to the book version of the Guardians franchise, just because the movie is simpler and gives me more freedom to make my own ideas and decisions, which is half the fun in finding a fandom
So i still love and respect the original MiM, but this is how i want to see him to secure my own childhood fantasies.

I've actually been trying to work up the nerve to ask you if you'd ever want to do a trade with me so you could do a drawing based on this song
So on to this Tsar Lunar guy... I fucking LOVE whatever you did to his cloak! Holy crap girl, that is just amazing! It looks like it's made of water or something! And those gems... so dark and deep and gorgeous And Tsar's face looks so kind and gentle. Those eyes... I feel like he's looking right at me (no, not like scary demon Fluttershy... I mean in a GOOD way lol ^^) He just perfectly matches the image I have in my head when I hear The Man in the Moon

He reminds me a bit of a cross between Aang from Avatar and Megamind. I think they wanted someone that children would naturally gravitate toward in terms of appearance, and I thought it a little unnerving that they never showed MiM in the movie or gave him a voice. Naturally, Nightlight is his emissary and former "royal babysitter" and carry out his will on Earth just fine… but there is a time period where Nightlight didn't have all of his memories. Tsar Lunar had to do something to remedy this, so he sent North and katherine to the Lunar Lamadery in Tibet.

This is so fucking cute! You made Lunanoff look so wise and understanding! The robe doesn't look at all right though ^_^ Gravity is a dick haha. Although you could argue for the next picture that Gravity is different in the moon so you can make it all floaty or something ^_^ lol

The word "Tsar" originated from "Caesar". It was the equivalent of the word "emperor" in Russia until tsar Peter I declared Russia an empire.
