Alice Maiden had hit something of a rough spot within the Battle Maidens as of late. The self-titled Bookworm was a wrestler whose technical skills had seen praise from some of the best submission specialists that had ever stepped foot within a four-sided ring, and her knowledge in boxing has allowed her to throw hands with the toughest brawlers. For all of her talents however, Alice’s win-loss record revealed that she had holes in her strategies and was currently trying to rebound from a forty-two losing streak that had seen her standings in the rankings take a dive. So much so that Alice had decided to take a break and mull over what ancestral force she managed to piss off to be given such bad luck. Then one night, something had piqued Alice’s interest as she watched Soma Karin step into the ring with a newcomer for a try-out match.

This newcomer was a tall, fair-skinned woman whose silver hair flew elegantly past her shoulders. Glad in a red karate gi jacket worn over a black leotard sans pants. Her well-defined, curvaceous legs were bared for the world to see while wearing a pair of black knee pads and her ankles were taped up. It wasn’t unusual for karate practitioners to step inside the Battle Maidens ring, Alice had tussled with a few. But this one was different, felt different -- standing across from Soma with a stoic look on her face, yet the confidence exuding from her stance alone could be felt through the screen. Then the bell rang and Alice watched as this woman called Griffon Lefort took absolute control of the match with precise strikes that overwhelmed Soma.

Every time Soma tried to grapple Griffon, the karateka seemed to have an answer and countered with brutal efficiency. It didn’t take long for Soma to be sufficiently weakened for the finishing maneuver. Yet where Alice expected Griffon to finish Soma with some sort of flashy karate punch or kick, the ivory-maned fighter instead opted to put Soma to sleep with a Half-Nelson Choke -- decisively winning the match in a manner of minutes by submission. Something clicked as Alice watched Griffon’s hand get raised, the sweat trailing down the woman’s collarbone, thick thigh and to the foot firmly planted on Soma’s heaving chest. Alice felt inspired to seek out Griffon to learn karate from her, to see if it would improve the Bookworm’s chances in the ring.

She just couldn’t tell if it was from a desire to actually become stronger or from her own attraction to this silver-haired amazon standing proud in victory.

When Griffon was asked to help Emilie spread awareness of the Hyakuren school of karate, Griffon answered by testing herself against other martial artists, eventually debuting in the squared ring of the Battle Maidens. In a dominant victory in her first match, she gained more eyes on the dojo and even secured a new student from the roster itself in the form of Alice Maiden. What Griffon wasn’t expecting was Alice’s insistence that SHE be the one to teach the self-called “Bookworm”, despite Griffon stating that she’s not the best at teaching newcomers. Eventually Alice won and Griffon was now sitting in the middle of the dojo, waiting for Alice to arrive for their first training session together. Griffon had to give Alice credit in that she had bought her own custom gi for it, a white and green affair sans undershirt -- revealing a rather buxom chest underneath. Not the most unusual state of dress considering Griffon and Alisa’s own preferences as the silver-haired woman handed Alice her white belt and began instruction.

Griffon attempted to mimic Emilie’s gentler method of teaching, but quickly found out that Alice was easily….distracted during warm-ups. At first, Alice matched Griffon’s movements and rhythm, but every now and then Griffon would catch her student’s eyes wandering to places it wasn’t supposed to be. Sometimes it was towards her luminous silver hair that flowed freely down her shoulders. Sometimes it was towards her chest where it glistened under the lights from the exertion. Sometimes it was towards her feet whenever they took up a stance. Griffon couldn’t tell if Alice was actually interested in learning or if she simply wanted to get a closer look at Griffon and the Canadian started to grow annoyed at the result.

The straw finally broke when the two were practicing high kicks, Alice’s eyes once again being distracted by the stoic beauty next to her and her feet slipped off the mat. Griffon watched unamused as Alice let out a yelp and comically fell onto her side, rubbing her hips as Griffon groaned in disgust. Just as the fledgling student was starting to rise, Griffon would suddenly walk over to Alice, pushing her onto the mat, pinning her underfoot. Alice gasped, eyes going wide as she looked straight at Griffon who had her hands on her hips and stared Alice down with an icy glare. “I want you to listen to me, very carefully.” Griffon said, her accent only further emphasizing the annoyance in her voice.

“I know those glances you keep giving me. I’m aware of my looks and the kind of effect I have on people, but we didn’t come here to flirt now did we?” Griffon started to grind her heel against Alice’s bare skin, causing the bookworm to wince. “No, you wanted to learn my style of karate and I could’ve sworn that the desire was genuine. Unless it was just some elaborate plan to try and get in my pants?”

“W-wait, I can explai---!” Alice’s pleas were cut by Griffon’s foot moving over to her throat, feeling a portion of Griffon’s weight as the toes pressed against Alice’s jugular. Alice’s hands shot up and clawed at Griffon’s pants as the karateka started to choke the bookworm with her foot.

“My time is limited and if there’s one thing I hate more is to have it be wasted. So I’ll just ask this once: Are you here to train or are you here to flirt? Because if it’s the latter then I’m afraid that you are going to be sleeping off the disappointment.”

Alice’s eyes started to flutter, her cheeks turning red as she tapped the mat repeatedly with her hand while her legs kicked with futility. “I’m…I’m here to learn!” Alice managed to finally say in between gasps. Griffon hummed and pulled her foot off Alice’s throat, hearing Alice gasping and starting taking in air with big gulps.

“Good girl, you are as smart as your name suggests.” Griffon said in a half-teasing tone, as if she didn’t just try and put Alice to sleep seconds prior. As Alice laid flat on the mat, Griffon walked over her, her foot hovering dangerously close to Alice’s face as if to step on her. Only it landed next to Alice as Griffon walked a few feet away and sat on her knees with her fists on her hips.

“Take five to recover. After that, I’ll be putting you through Hyakuren’s more harsher methods in training. It’s typically reserved for black belts, but considering that you are already a pro-wrestler and for this little incident: I think you can take it.”

Alice could only weakly lift her hand into the air to give a thumbs up before letting it fall limp to her side as she took a moment to rest. An important lesson was learned that day and Alice realized exactly why Griffon wasn’t the lead sensei in the dojo….

A fun little piece I got to write in collaboration with who I had commissioned to make Griffon, who in turn made this for the hell of it cause the both of us were in a karate kick lately XD Griffon being asked to train the Battle Maidens leading lady and in turn show off some of the reasons why she's not leading the effort to be the lead sensei at the Hyakuren dojo...among other things. Still this was a lot of fun to write and I hope to get more done between school and work. Not gonna lie, be prepared for MUCH more karate content in the future XD
