I think this piece demonstrates many of your strong talents as a growing artist, but more importantly how you can bring such energy to your art in a simple way. What i mean is that the design of the chocobo is design in a head on presence and while one might say that it would have been better to present the design at a angle the concept of having to face the viewer works well here.
I think what really makes that work is your approach towards colouring. The clean use of shading and simple variety of tones selected allows the design to have this very nice, bouncy atmosphere.
