They love Marco alot. Despite usual ups and downs coming from Marco's sudden erratic behaviour in his younger years, they would never be mad at him as they know he tried his best to stay as nice to people as possible, in his teenage years. Now when he was a grown up young adult, they fully trusted responsibilities onto him, happily seeing their child grow up to be successful.
-Finn
Finn has been Marco's best friend his entire life, noone could've replaced him out of the small amount of friends he had. If they were to argue, they would both circle back to apologize to one another, making up for their mistakes in the past. Marco considers Finn a life-saver, someone who helped his entire family, he has the highest regards of respect to him and sees him more of a brother, rather than a best friend.

Marco grew up in a difficult neighbourhood, lead by cliques and unfriendly faces, so he learned to not trust anyone, being raised by his parents to stay secretive while trying to also raise him as normally as possible, like any other child. In order to befriend Marco, people would have to let parents meet theirs, so they could judge out the friends Marco shouldn't have and bad influences.
The day Marco was playing on a playground when he was six years old, was when he met Finn there, his father watching them play together. That was the day Marco befriended his first friend. Marco wished to talk more frequently to Finn, but couldn't do much since they were seperated by different schools. That's the moment when Finn came to his school and now, had someone to talk to, finally getting rid of children from his suburb making fun of him for being a loner. While Finn wouldn't pay much attention in school, Marco helped him fix his grades at the start of their life together in school, since unlike Finn, Marco actually enjoyed studying and learning about new things. If anyone were to approach Marco, Finn would make sure to watch from a distance to make sure noone could hurt him, due to that though, most feared approaching Marco, since students knew Finn would get physical. When Marco became 11 years old, he went through an emo phase, dyeing his hair to a violet color isolating himself from everyone and losing trust in everyone. He was stuck like that until he became 12 years old, rcoming back to Finn in order to apologize for abandoning him for an entire year, Finn accpeted his apology and went back to being buddy-buddy to him, just like Marco did to him, slowly making him feel more comfortable with talking to Finn until he went back to his old self, still struggling on with his puberty now. When his moulting season came, he lost most of his hair, he realised that the few purple bits left in his hair were still present, after shedding all of his feathers he decided to keep a small section dyed, as a reminder to himself of his cruel behaviour back then, so this wouldn't occur again.
Many years went by and they both finished graduating, celebrating it together aswell. Marco continued to pursue his dream-job of becoming a computer technician, as he enjoyed the banter between customers, helping them and getting to tinker with fine hardware as he liked to work with old computer chips. While he was working every day, since Marco would speak to alot of people, he would often hold small conversations to the point of befriending a few customers. One perculiar case was with a woman whose laptop needed repairs, although at first talking together with normal smalltalk, Marco would realise very soon that the mood became a little flirty when they conversed, that's how they met eachother. They soon realised they had similar interests in the digital compartment so they decided to become friends. From friends went to romantic partner as Marco tried to get his first girlfriend. While the first few weeks went well with her, She became incredibly posessive over Marco in no time, constantly nagging him about his friends and how he "barely" spent time with her in the first few weeks talking to Finn and a few other old school friends, expecting him every day to waste all his time and attention on her. Since Marco wasn't the confrontational type, he didn't want to argue much with her, influencing his time spent rather with Finn and others, slowly draining the sociability out of him, turning him more silent and compliant with her. When Finn met them randomly on the street, seeing them walking home, he quickly ran over to Marco and greeted him happily. Marco's distant glare to the ground now turned to a face of happiness, Finn could sense something was wrong. He took a second look at his arm, it was being clutched tightly by his girlfriend, to the point Marco seemed pained. His tail was spread, that was the moment Finn confronted Katrina about her clingyness. They were debating on the street, both Finn and Katrina, while Marco had to watch them. In the end, they both screamed at Marco, on who to decide on. While Finn had a desperate and sad look, Katrina had a sneering and expecting look. Marco was so overwhelmed, he didn't move an inch, he was frozen. He couldn't decide on anything. Finn could see the amount of shock Marco went through that moment, he didn't bother to sneer back at Katrina who kept insulting Finn for even trying to get in her way. He let out a really silent; "Marco..? Bud?", Marco wasn't responding, he was frozen in his unclear reaction to this stressing situation, he had never experienced such a heightened anxiety response yet. Finn approached Marco, lightly holding his shoulder and looking at him, with a concerned look. Marco was still spacing out, until he registered Finn's touch, his flight- or fight responses now kicked in, running away before he would've caused a panic attack to trigger as he was on the brink of one, for the first time. Finn while at first, slowly running behind, decided to stop, when he realised how much distress he caused to him. Without reacting to Katrina now blaming him for this situation, he silently started to walk home. Marco ran back home, blinded by tunnel-vision, not realising what he was doing, just running back to his parents. They immediately let him inside and tried to calm him down, he had to cry and tell them what happened. They could only calm him down, but they themselves couldn't have chosen as Marco didn't let them know about the perspective of his girlfriend, rather only that Finn confronted them both. For the next week, he chose to stay inside, trying to make light of the situation he got himself into. It only worsened, when in a span of 3 days, his girlfriend decided to break up with him, via mobile text. Marco was distraught. It pushed him into another phase of sadness and denial to talk to anyone. He asked to take a few days off work and got his permission granted. Marco was crushed. Finn for days was waiting outside, hoping to meet him again, wanting to ask for his forgiveness, involving him in his personal, jealous vendetta against Marco's- now ex. Marco was asking his parents on what to do, as they comforted him throughout his unfortunate situation, giving him advice for next time to find the right one. Finn visited Marco and asked his parents if he could talk to him. They decided to agree since they thought it could possibly cheer him up. While Marco didn't want to talk to Finn at all since he was afraid of him at the moment that he would scream at him the same way he did to his ex, it was the polar opposite. Finn comforted him, listened to his vents and in the end they forgave eachother, slowly trying to start anew. While they were enjoying the months of silence, Marco starting to work night shifts now to spend more time with Finn, gradually forgetting about his ex, was the moment everything came crashing down once again.
Before Marco could've gone to work one day, he got arrested and taken to court, Marco not understanding of the situation, just complied, hoping they just confused him with someone else. His ex gave them a "tip" on Marco, haven "stolen" several chips from the store he was working in, while faking evidence, editing photos of him to frame him, while claiming his stash of computer chips were all stolen when he actually bought them, but had no receipts to prove it as a purchase. Marco had been plead guilty by the judge, sentencing him to five years in prison, for stealing embezzlement for personal use off his work worth 2.000$, fining his family a felony charge of 3.5000$ too. Finn went to court as a witness, but they ignored his points and past experience as lying, due to his panicked body language coming off as a liar. Both families fought for Marco's justice but the judge ruled otherwise. Now with Marco getting arrested and sentenced from jail to full-on prison time, Finn also wanted to join him since Finn wasted months not speaking to him, ever since his posessive girlfriend took over his daily life.
Finn and Marco got seperated because of the process, while Finn wasn't very delighted to receive the news, he was fine as long as he got to stay close to them. Finn was all alone, while Marco had an unexpected prison mate. Marco didn't get along very well with them since he considered them quite intrusive. Marco tried to avoid him as much as possible, unfortunately it didn't work out well since it would happen every single night, becoming more and more intrusive daily, trying to press him out on information about him, while Marco was uncomfortable with getting confrontational again. Finn couldn't do anything about the confrontation as he'd sleep at night, while Marco stayed alerted all night instead. Marco one morning saw his inmate trying to get out of prison, when he managed to smash a window out they had, by taking forks with him and barring the edges slowly open to remove the pane of the window so he could squeeze himself out of the window.
"Where are you going?? Did you break that window on purpose?!"
Marco pulled his inmate back down. They raised their head and started to grin.
"Don't get in my way. This is my last warning. Let. Me. Go."
Their eyes darted up and his pupils shrunk. Their voice had now become a threatening tone and a chilling lack of emotion in their tone. Marco could see that their breath increased.
Marco felt intimidated, yet still continued to hound him; "You're in prison for a reason man! Come on, what's it gonna bring if you escape anyway?! Hell, who knows maybe you'll injure someone because how much of a threat you could be!"
His inmate quipped a short laugh. His cold tone made Marco nervous, he knew for sure since Marco unconsciously admitted, he seemed threatening.
"Do you want to snitch on me, my friend? I wouldn't do that if I were you. I warn you, I won't hold back to do what I want. Someone as frail looking like you...Surely won't keep me seated."
"I-...I'M NOT FRAIL! YOU'RE GONNA STAY HERE WITH ME, MAN!", Marco got so mad, that he poked the inmate's chest while exclaiming that scream.
"So you have chosen option B! I never was obligated to eliminate evidence, but you're in my way."
He got into a fight with his inmate, trying his hardest to stay calm. Unfortunately, Marco was an easy target to his inmate as he wasn't very strong physically to face him. Marco before he could in any way dodge him, started to get hit in his face by the inmate, silently giggling along while doing so, after breaking several spots in his face, the inmate broke his right arm, Marco screamed in agony as it had only hurt even more that an already fractured wrist before in his right arm, has completely been twisted and shattered. Marco got chocked by them, until they finished him off with a final blow, targeting the carotid artery in his neck, stabbing it several times with a fork. Marco died in a matter of minutes, while Finn had to watch as he laid there, Finn screaming out for his name, in a last effort to encourage him to keep fighting. With a shallow and weak breath, the last things he could only hear is; "MARCO! MARCO ARE YOU ALRIGHT?! PLEASE ANSWER ME!", Finn's screaming encouraged Marco to not give in to the weakness he was feeling, as he was losing last of his touch and bated breath. His last thought was; "If only I could protect you..From ever encountering him. I don't want you to die yet.", remembering many of his last memories. He fell unconscious first in the few seconds remaining, then passed away a painful and cruel death.

The moment when Marco had been buried by his own family, accompanied by Finn's, was the day when his spirit was unresting, yearning justice for his murder. He descended out of his grave, wondering if Marco died. Everything was bright, not a single soul to be seen that was alive, only other ghosts in a graveyard, sitting on their gravestones or resting, some wandering. Marco wanted to walk, but his legs couldn't be felt. It felt like Marco was swimming, although there was no water, the wind slowly carrying him forward. Marco managed to reach another spirit, he asked them politely; "Excuse me, may I ask where I am here?"
"you must be new to ask such a question....You've been buried like everyone else on this graveyard. Welcome to the immortal plane, the spirit world, where most won't recognize you. We're all lost here."
"No, no...I mean..What country is this? Are we still in America? Is this Utah?"
"No, I don't know where we are, I never left my grave. Although one thing I know, is that the graveyard's name is the "Bloomfield Cemetary", though.", the spirit responded back to him.
Marco's eyes lit up. He was still in the same city, where he had been deported to stay imprisoned, this was his chance to get back to Finn. Marco screamed a last "THANK YOU, I BLESS YOU!", to the spirit, as he began to run out, he started to float, then fly, while at first it was unstable, he learned to fly quickly, since it was in his nature, he learned it faster than anyone other species. Now on his mission to get back to Finn, was the same time when Finn started to dig his way out of prison. The moment Marco came back to him, was the moment when he also saw Finn outside the prison, running. Marco was confused at first, then caught onto the situation quickly, understanding partially what's going on now. While Finn was running from the police, Marco tried to lure them away by shaking bushes and throwing rocks around the ground. When Finn continued running away, was also when Marco lost him once again. Finn ran into a deeper forest, Marco wasn't able to see him, flying high above the ground, looking past trees in hopes of finding him overhead. For a while, flying through the forests, lowering down to ground level and then flying through those to try and find Finn, was also another futile attempt. He was tirelessly searching and observing above the sky to find him, when at last he found him a week later.

Marco had to take a few hours of flying and surrounding the forest, realising there's a small plain field, finally finding Finn and descending back down to him, now taking care of Finn until he would wake up. When Marco found him, the first thing he did was hug him tightly. He was afraid to lose Finn now. He was several times, shaking Finn, to hope and get a response from him. Marco even held one of his eyelids open when the sun was outside, to see if his eyes would respond to the light, they never responded to the light changes, they stayed diluted. Marco was concerned, so he replaced one of his eyes with a special eye that has the power to see spirits, since Finn was unconscious, he was fine with changing one of them so Finn could see him now, once he'd wake up. Marco felt it was mandatory, since he wouldn't want to be ignored by him. Alot of time has passed, noone would be able to find him, as Finn was well hidden in the grass that grew taller while he "slept". While Finn was stuck in a coma. The more he "slept", the more Marco was losing hope, that he wasn't going to wake up and die, turning Marco desperate, forcing his hand on hunting down animals just so Finn could stay alive while he was incapacitated..He stood back up just fine. "Starving isn't the nicest feeling...", He was lightheaded and drousy. After having a good sneeze, he took a good glance, where he ended up in. Tattered clothes, so starved that he could see his own bones through his own arms, He spotted something from the corner of his eye.
The moment Finn woke up, Marco could sense him coming back to life, quickly turning around to face him.
"M......Marco..?......Is that you.....?"
Marco was happy and excited to see that he was still alive, also estatic that Finn could now see him. Finn's eyes slowly adjusted, from seeing a barely gloomy blob in the distance, now was able to recognize him in the sunlight.
"MARCO!!"
Finn was shocked to see him again. But now Marco had grown a pair of wings..?
Marco flew over to him, Finn was also running towards him. Marco phased through Finn's body, Finn turned around quickly stopping while Marco still realised that Finn was closer than he expected. Marco held his face, smiling at him.
"FINN!! You're alive! Are you alright?! You've been asleep for a looong time, buddy......"
Finn wanted to hug him, but his hands phased through Marco's body, Marco although did hug him, even if he couldn't feel the contact, Finn felt comforted by his hug. Both Finn and Marco cried together upon seeing eachother. While for Finn, it was mostly bottled up mourning over him, for Marco, it were tears of joy, that he didn't receive the same fate as him. Finn realised that Marco was talking through his mouth. Finn had to take a moment to cry, while Marco was lightly patting his back, trying to be as gentle as possible with contact. "Uhm Marco? How are you still alive?! D-Didn't I see you....Die....?", Finn was scared to ask, "Y-you're.....Dead, right....?", Finn's tears have increased, the more he questioned it, he didn't even want to ask such a question, everything was incredibly overwhelming to him at the moment, he had no other way of staying calm right now. After a small pause, needing to breathe and thinking, what he was about to say, Marco answered; "Ahhaaa sorry, but I'm not exactly alive..You see uhh..Awkward. Basically....I'm a ghost now I........I guess? I've been watching you for some time now, I decided to take a look on if I could somehow help you..I guess you NOW can see me, as you never heard or paid attention to me before-"
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME MARCO?! YOU WERE THERE THE ENTIRE TIME?!!"
"Yup..Sorry man.", Marco responded calmly back to Finn.
"STOP APOLOGIZING, RATHER EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU DUDE?!" Finn couldn't stop screaming about this situation out of sheer confusion, slowly tiring him along the way until he finally was calm.
Finn was talking to himself for literally 2 hours. Talking to Marco, Marco speaking through his mouth, being his only way to communicate with him at the time. Marco started explaining all the things he had to do, in order to manage to keep Finn alive for a while, even though Marco believed he died a while ago now. Marco explained how he died and what happened while Finn was asleep. Finn and Marco talking so loudly for so long, alarmed a group nearby. Finn didn't notice people were watching them, while he was so distracted from talking Marco. The ones who watched him, saw noone. Marco felt watched, so he looked around the area until he spotted people hiding in bushes. The moment his stance froze, was the moment when Finn also spotted them. Standing up from a tree stump he was sitting on, now in a defensive stance, staring at them with a serious face. They asked him nicely, if he needed a therapist and how he landed in the most unknown meadow yet, since not many were visiting that place. The entire group of people couldn't see Marco. Finn didn't entirely know if he could trust them. All 3 of them had a suspicious look on their faces. Only looking at Finn, not paying attention to Marco byside him. "You alright? Escaped an insane asylum or sumn'?", one of them asked."You guys are telling me you can't see him?! Or why are you calling me crazy?!", he pointed to Marco right next to him, in irritation. "No, we can't see anybody right next to you, me boy. Come on, come with us and we'll atleast try to make sense of why you've been screaming for 2 hours about some lad named "Marco" and atleast feed you something! You look like the worst case of starvation we had of lost wanderers yet.", their leader exclaimed. One of them was sceptical, "you sure he ain't a criminal or lunatic?", their leader shook their head. Now, the entire group invited him to live with them in their underground homes, since they wouldn't trust Finn onto living all by himself, as they didn't know Marco was already watching over him. Finn decided to comply after Marco gave him a worried look. As they were walking, Finn struck up a conversation while Marco ocassionally also decided to ask a few questions out of slight curiosity. "So you guys live in those...Underground?!" -- "Yup. We've gotten used to it!~", one of them responded. It was a group consisting of a bunny, a deer and an otter, all living together. "We're all here, living under one roof together, as we couldn't afford all the expenses for real houses, let alone apartments, down here under the earth.", the otter responded. "it's nice and chill! We can share rooms, promise I won't get mad if you randomly start babbling in the night about some guy you call Marco!", the bunny responded.
"He's a real guy, I SWEAR. You really can't just see him. Noone can except me right now, I don't even know HOW I can see him myself...He's right next to us, walking byside us.", answered back Finn. in a snappy tone.
"You sure you're not schizophrenic or insanse, boy?", The deer definetly seemed sceptical the most, out of the other 2, towards the rookie.
"NO I'M NOT!"
"Probably just got an imaginative friend, don't be so judgemental!!", the bunny responded back to the deer, despite Finn's scream about their statement.
Finn screamed, holding his head now, grinding his teeth. The more they questioned if Marco was there, the more it made Finn come closer to a breakdown. Marco softly rubbed his back a few times. He took over and responded personally with; "Look, I get noone can see me, but please do trust my friend, that I do exist. It's not easy also being an invisible ghost to everyone, hope you can respect that, we're going through a tough time right now as you can tell.", Finn sounded calm and more softer in his tone when Marco responded instead, almost as if he would be a completely different person now.
It convinced the small goup to hold onto a small belief that there actually is someone there, to some extent.
Finn decided to stay with them and do small favors and work for them when requested. They all eachother helped out eventually help get back Finn back on his legs, while the bunny more and more believed that Marco was actually real, from the few times she has seen floating objects be moved or pushed while they were working together. From the few crops they built near a pond to their cave, down to mining underground with someone he befriended, now having another friend and not only Marco, feeling a little safer. All members managed to get along, with a few differences aside of them finding it weird when Finn would talk to "himself". Marco and Finn were ready to leave after 2 more years of living there. Backpack ready, having some warmer and more resistant clothes, a lot of food stashed and a good amount of water with him. Marco and Finn thanked the small group that they could stay with them, and said their goodbyes, continuing to wander out together, searching for a good place to live by themselves. Eventually, they found a good spot in a forest where they settled down to live hidden from the public. Finn started making his own small underground cave, with the help of Marco helping him carry around objects to make the job easier, they managed to finish it really quick.
Now with holding the responsibility to protect Finn, Marco swore to not abuse his newfound strengths for the worse. While Finn will prepare himself on a journey to help Marco and himself find peace, Marco tends to reflect on if the goal will really be worth it, while Finn strongly tries to convince he should rest in peace.

Marco grew up in a difficult neighbourhood, lead by cliques and unfriendly faces, so he learned to not trust anyone, being raised by his parents to stay secretive while trying to also raise him as normally as possible, like any other child. In order to befriend Marco, people would have to let parents meet theirs, so they could judge out the friends Marco shouldn't have and bad influences.
The day Marco was playing on a playground when he was six years old, was when he met Finn there, his father watching them play together. That was the day Marco befriended his first friend. Marco wished to talk more frequently to Finn, but couldn't do much since they were seperated by different schools. That's the moment when Finn came to his school and now, had someone to talk to, finally getting rid of children from his suburb making fun of him for being a loner. While Finn wouldn't pay much attention in school, Marco helped him fix his grades at the start of their life together in school, since unlike Finn, Marco actually enjoyed studying and learning about new things. If anyone were to approach Marco, Finn would make sure to watch from a distance to make sure noone could hurt him, due to that though, most feared approaching Marco, since students knew Finn would get physical. When Marco became 11 years old, he went through an emo phase, dyeing his hair to a violet color isolating himself from everyone and losing trust in everyone. He was stuck like that until he became 12 years old, rcoming back to Finn in order to apologize for abandoning him for an entire year, Finn accpeted his apology and went back to being buddy-buddy to him, just like Marco did to him, slowly making him feel more comfortable with talking to Finn until he went back to his old self, still struggling on with his puberty now. When his moulting season came, he lost most of his hair, he realised that the few purple bits left in his hair were still present, after shedding all of his feathers he decided to keep a small section dyed, as a reminder to himself of his cruel behaviour back then, so this wouldn't occur again.
Many years went by and they both finished graduating, celebrating it together aswell. Marco continued to pursue his dream-job of becoming a computer technician, as he enjoyed the banter between customers, helping them and getting to tinker with fine hardware as he liked to work with old computer chips. While he was working every day, since Marco would speak to alot of people, he would often hold small conversations to the point of befriending a few customers. One perculiar case was with a woman whose laptop needed repairs, although at first talking together with normal smalltalk, Marco would realise very soon that the mood became a little flirty when they conversed, that's how they met eachother. They soon realised they had similar interests in the digital compartment so they decided to become friends. From friends went to romantic partner as Marco tried to get his first girlfriend. While the first few weeks went well with her, She became incredibly posessive over Marco in no time, constantly nagging him about his friends and how he "barely" spent time with her in the first few weeks talking to Finn and a few other old school friends, expecting him every day to waste all his time and attention on her. Since Marco wasn't the confrontational type, he didn't want to argue much with her, influencing his time spent rather with Finn and others, slowly draining the sociability out of him, turning him more silent and compliant with her. When Finn met them randomly on the street, seeing them walking home, he quickly ran over to Marco and greeted him happily. Marco's distant glare to the ground now turned to a face of happiness, Finn could sense something was wrong. He took a second look at his arm, it was being clutched tightly by his girlfriend, to the point Marco seemed pained. His tail was spread, that was the moment Finn confronted Katrina about her clingyness. They were debating on the street, both Finn and Katrina, while Marco had to watch them. In the end, they both screamed at Marco, on who to decide on. While Finn had a desperate and sad look, Katrina had a sneering and expecting look. Marco was so overwhelmed, he didn't move an inch, he was frozen. He couldn't decide on anything. Finn could see the amount of shock Marco went through that moment, he didn't bother to sneer back at Katrina who kept insulting Finn for even trying to get in her way. He let out a really silent; "Marco..? Bud?", Marco wasn't responding, he was frozen in his unclear reaction to this stressing situation, he had never experienced such a heightened anxiety response yet. Finn approached Marco, lightly holding his shoulder and looking at him, with a concerned look. Marco was still spacing out, until he registered Finn's touch, his flight- or fight responses now kicked in, running away before he would've caused a panic attack to trigger as he was on the brink of one, for the first time. Finn while at first, slowly running behind, decided to stop, when he realised how much distress he caused to him. Without reacting to Katrina now blaming him for this situation, he silently started to walk home. Marco ran back home, blinded by tunnel-vision, not realising what he was doing, just running back to his parents. They immediately let him inside and tried to calm him down, he had to cry and tell them what happened. They could only calm him down, but they themselves couldn't have chosen as Marco didn't let them know about the perspective of his girlfriend, rather only that Finn confronted them both. For the next week, he chose to stay inside, trying to make light of the situation he got himself into. It only worsened, when in a span of 3 days, his girlfriend decided to break up with him, via mobile text. Marco was distraught. It pushed him into another phase of sadness and denial to talk to anyone. He asked to take a few days off work and got his permission granted. Marco was crushed. Finn for days was waiting outside, hoping to meet him again, wanting to ask for his forgiveness, involving him in his personal, jealous vendetta against Marco's- now ex. Marco was asking his parents on what to do, as they comforted him throughout his unfortunate situation, giving him advice for next time to find the right one. Finn visited Marco and asked his parents if he could talk to him. They decided to agree since they thought it could possibly cheer him up. While Marco didn't want to talk to Finn at all since he was afraid of him at the moment that he would scream at him the same way he did to his ex, it was the polar opposite. Finn comforted him, listened to his vents and in the end they forgave eachother, slowly trying to start anew. While they were enjoying the months of silence, Marco starting to work night shifts now to spend more time with Finn, gradually forgetting about his ex, was the moment everything came crashing down once again.
Before Marco could've gone to work one day, he got arrested and taken to court, Marco not understanding of the situation, just complied, hoping they just confused him with someone else. His ex gave them a "tip" on Marco, haven "stolen" several chips from the store he was working in, while faking evidence, editing photos of him to frame him, while claiming his stash of computer chips were all stolen when he actually bought them, but had no receipts to prove it as a purchase. Marco had been plead guilty by the judge, sentencing him to five years in prison, for stealing embezzlement for personal use off his work worth 2.000$, fining his family a felony charge of 3.5000$ too. Finn went to court as a witness, but they ignored his points and past experience as lying, due to his panicked body language coming off as a liar. Both families fought for Marco's justice but the judge ruled otherwise. Now with Marco getting arrested and sentenced from jail to full-on prison time, Finn also wanted to join him since Finn wasted months not speaking to him, ever since his posessive girlfriend took over his daily life.
Finn and Marco got seperated because of the process, while Finn wasn't very delighted to receive the news, he was fine as long as he got to stay close to them. Finn was all alone, while Marco had an unexpected prison mate. Marco didn't get along very well with them since he considered them quite intrusive. Marco tried to avoid him as much as possible, unfortunately it didn't work out well since it would happen every single night, becoming more and more intrusive daily, trying to press him out on information about him, while Marco was uncomfortable with getting confrontational again. Finn couldn't do anything about the confrontation as he'd sleep at night, while Marco stayed alerted all night instead. Marco one morning saw his inmate trying to get out of prison, when he managed to smash a window out they had, by taking forks with him and barring the edges slowly open to remove the pane of the window so he could squeeze himself out of the window.
"Where are you going?? Did you break that window on purpose?!"
Marco pulled his inmate back down. They raised their head and started to grin.
"Don't get in my way. This is my last warning. Let. Me. Go."
Their eyes darted up and his pupils shrunk. Their voice had now become a threatening tone and a chilling lack of emotion in their tone. Marco could see that their breath increased.
Marco felt intimidated, yet still continued to hound him; "You're in prison for a reason man! Come on, what's it gonna bring if you escape anyway?! Hell, who knows maybe you'll injure someone because how much of a threat you could be!"
His inmate quipped a short laugh. His cold tone made Marco nervous, he knew for sure since Marco unconsciously admitted, he seemed threatening.
"Do you want to snitch on me, my friend? I wouldn't do that if I were you. I warn you, I won't hold back to do what I want. Someone as frail looking like you...Surely won't keep me seated."
"I-...I'M NOT FRAIL! YOU'RE GONNA STAY HERE WITH ME, MAN!", Marco got so mad, that he poked the inmate's chest while exclaiming that scream.
"So you have chosen option B! I never was obligated to eliminate evidence, but you're in my way."
He got into a fight with his inmate, trying his hardest to stay calm. Unfortunately, Marco was an easy target to his inmate as he wasn't very strong physically to face him. Marco before he could in any way dodge him, started to get hit in his face by the inmate, silently giggling along while doing so, after breaking several spots in his face, the inmate broke his right arm, Marco screamed in agony as it had only hurt even more that an already fractured wrist before in his right arm, has completely been twisted and shattered. Marco got chocked by them, until they finished him off with a final blow, targeting the carotid artery in his neck, stabbing it several times with a fork. Marco died in a matter of minutes, while Finn had to watch as he laid there, Finn screaming out for his name, in a last effort to encourage him to keep fighting. With a shallow and weak breath, the last things he could only hear is; "MARCO! MARCO ARE YOU ALRIGHT?! PLEASE ANSWER ME!", Finn's screaming encouraged Marco to not give in to the weakness he was feeling, as he was losing last of his touch and bated breath. His last thought was; "If only I could protect you..From ever encountering him. I don't want you to die yet.", remembering many of his last memories. He fell unconscious first in the few seconds remaining, then passed away a painful and cruel death.

The moment when Marco had been buried by his own family, accompanied by Finn's, was the day when his spirit was unresting, yearning justice for his murder. He descended out of his grave, wondering if Marco died. Everything was bright, not a single soul to be seen that was alive, only other ghosts in a graveyard, sitting on their gravestones or resting, some wandering. Marco wanted to walk, but his legs couldn't be felt. It felt like Marco was swimming, although there was no water, the wind slowly carrying him forward. Marco managed to reach another spirit, he asked them politely; "Excuse me, may I ask where I am here?"
"you must be new to ask such a question....You've been buried like everyone else on this graveyard. Welcome to the immortal plane, the spirit world, where most won't recognize you. We're all lost here."
"No, no...I mean..What country is this? Are we still in America? Is this Utah?"
"No, I don't know where we are, I never left my grave. Although one thing I know, is that the graveyard's name is the "Bloomfield Cemetary", though.", the spirit responded back to him.
Marco's eyes lit up. He was still in the same city, where he had been deported to stay imprisoned, this was his chance to get back to Finn. Marco screamed a last "THANK YOU, I BLESS YOU!", to the spirit, as he began to run out, he started to float, then fly, while at first it was unstable, he learned to fly quickly, since it was in his nature, he learned it faster than anyone other species. Now on his mission to get back to Finn, was the same time when Finn started to dig his way out of prison. The moment Marco came back to him, was the moment when he also saw Finn outside the prison, running. Marco was confused at first, then caught onto the situation quickly, understanding partially what's going on now. While Finn was running from the police, Marco tried to lure them away by shaking bushes and throwing rocks around the ground. When Finn continued running away, was also when Marco lost him once again. Finn ran into a deeper forest, Marco wasn't able to see him, flying high above the ground, looking past trees in hopes of finding him overhead. For a while, flying through the forests, lowering down to ground level and then flying through those to try and find Finn, was also another futile attempt. He was tirelessly searching and observing above the sky to find him, when at last he found him a week later.

Marco had to take a few hours of flying and surrounding the forest, realising there's a small plain field, finally finding Finn and descending back down to him, now taking care of Finn until he would wake up. When Marco found him, the first thing he did was hug him tightly. He was afraid to lose Finn now. He was several times, shaking Finn, to hope and get a response from him. Marco even held one of his eyelids open when the sun was outside, to see if his eyes would respond to the light, they never responded to the light changes, they stayed diluted. Marco was concerned, so he replaced one of his eyes with a special eye that has the power to see spirits, since Finn was unconscious, he was fine with changing one of them so Finn could see him now, once he'd wake up. Marco felt it was mandatory, since he wouldn't want to be ignored by him. Alot of time has passed, noone would be able to find him, as Finn was well hidden in the grass that grew taller while he "slept". While Finn was stuck in a coma. The more he "slept", the more Marco was losing hope, that he wasn't going to wake up and die, turning Marco desperate, forcing his hand on hunting down animals just so Finn could stay alive while he was incapacitated..He stood back up just fine. "Starving isn't the nicest feeling...", He was lightheaded and drousy. After having a good sneeze, he took a good glance, where he ended up in. Tattered clothes, so starved that he could see his own bones through his own arms, He spotted something from the corner of his eye.
The moment Finn woke up, Marco could sense him coming back to life, quickly turning around to face him.
"M......Marco..?......Is that you.....?"
Marco was happy and excited to see that he was still alive, also estatic that Finn could now see him. Finn's eyes slowly adjusted, from seeing a barely gloomy blob in the distance, now was able to recognize him in the sunlight.
"MARCO!!"
Finn was shocked to see him again. But now Marco had grown a pair of wings..?
Marco flew over to him, Finn was also running towards him. Marco phased through Finn's body, Finn turned around quickly stopping while Marco still realised that Finn was closer than he expected. Marco held his face, smiling at him.
"FINN!! You're alive! Are you alright?! You've been asleep for a looong time, buddy......"
Finn wanted to hug him, but his hands phased through Marco's body, Marco although did hug him, even if he couldn't feel the contact, Finn felt comforted by his hug. Both Finn and Marco cried together upon seeing eachother. While for Finn, it was mostly bottled up mourning over him, for Marco, it were tears of joy, that he didn't receive the same fate as him. Finn realised that Marco was talking through his mouth. Finn had to take a moment to cry, while Marco was lightly patting his back, trying to be as gentle as possible with contact. "Uhm Marco? How are you still alive?! D-Didn't I see you....Die....?", Finn was scared to ask, "Y-you're.....Dead, right....?", Finn's tears have increased, the more he questioned it, he didn't even want to ask such a question, everything was incredibly overwhelming to him at the moment, he had no other way of staying calm right now. After a small pause, needing to breathe and thinking, what he was about to say, Marco answered; "Ahhaaa sorry, but I'm not exactly alive..You see uhh..Awkward. Basically....I'm a ghost now I........I guess? I've been watching you for some time now, I decided to take a look on if I could somehow help you..I guess you NOW can see me, as you never heard or paid attention to me before-"
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME MARCO?! YOU WERE THERE THE ENTIRE TIME?!!"
"Yup..Sorry man.", Marco responded calmly back to Finn.
"STOP APOLOGIZING, RATHER EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU DUDE?!" Finn couldn't stop screaming about this situation out of sheer confusion, slowly tiring him along the way until he finally was calm.
Finn was talking to himself for literally 2 hours. Talking to Marco, Marco speaking through his mouth, being his only way to communicate with him at the time. Marco started explaining all the things he had to do, in order to manage to keep Finn alive for a while, even though Marco believed he died a while ago now. Marco explained how he died and what happened while Finn was asleep. Finn and Marco talking so loudly for so long, alarmed a group nearby. Finn didn't notice people were watching them, while he was so distracted from talking Marco. The ones who watched him, saw noone. Marco felt watched, so he looked around the area until he spotted people hiding in bushes. The moment his stance froze, was the moment when Finn also spotted them. Standing up from a tree stump he was sitting on, now in a defensive stance, staring at them with a serious face. They asked him nicely, if he needed a therapist and how he landed in the most unknown meadow yet, since not many were visiting that place. The entire group of people couldn't see Marco. Finn didn't entirely know if he could trust them. All 3 of them had a suspicious look on their faces. Only looking at Finn, not paying attention to Marco byside him. "You alright? Escaped an insane asylum or sumn'?", one of them asked."You guys are telling me you can't see him?! Or why are you calling me crazy?!", he pointed to Marco right next to him, in irritation. "No, we can't see anybody right next to you, me boy. Come on, come with us and we'll atleast try to make sense of why you've been screaming for 2 hours about some lad named "Marco" and atleast feed you something! You look like the worst case of starvation we had of lost wanderers yet.", their leader exclaimed. One of them was sceptical, "you sure he ain't a criminal or lunatic?", their leader shook their head. Now, the entire group invited him to live with them in their underground homes, since they wouldn't trust Finn onto living all by himself, as they didn't know Marco was already watching over him. Finn decided to comply after Marco gave him a worried look. As they were walking, Finn struck up a conversation while Marco ocassionally also decided to ask a few questions out of slight curiosity. "So you guys live in those...Underground?!" -- "Yup. We've gotten used to it!~", one of them responded. It was a group consisting of a bunny, a deer and an otter, all living together. "We're all here, living under one roof together, as we couldn't afford all the expenses for real houses, let alone apartments, down here under the earth.", the otter responded. "it's nice and chill! We can share rooms, promise I won't get mad if you randomly start babbling in the night about some guy you call Marco!", the bunny responded.
"He's a real guy, I SWEAR. You really can't just see him. Noone can except me right now, I don't even know HOW I can see him myself...He's right next to us, walking byside us.", answered back Finn. in a snappy tone.
"You sure you're not schizophrenic or insanse, boy?", The deer definetly seemed sceptical the most, out of the other 2, towards the rookie.
"NO I'M NOT!"
"Probably just got an imaginative friend, don't be so judgemental!!", the bunny responded back to the deer, despite Finn's scream about their statement.
Finn screamed, holding his head now, grinding his teeth. The more they questioned if Marco was there, the more it made Finn come closer to a breakdown. Marco softly rubbed his back a few times. He took over and responded personally with; "Look, I get noone can see me, but please do trust my friend, that I do exist. It's not easy also being an invisible ghost to everyone, hope you can respect that, we're going through a tough time right now as you can tell.", Finn sounded calm and more softer in his tone when Marco responded instead, almost as if he would be a completely different person now.
It convinced the small goup to hold onto a small belief that there actually is someone there, to some extent.
Finn decided to stay with them and do small favors and work for them when requested. They all eachother helped out eventually help get back Finn back on his legs, while the bunny more and more believed that Marco was actually real, from the few times she has seen floating objects be moved or pushed while they were working together. From the few crops they built near a pond to their cave, down to mining underground with someone he befriended, now having another friend and not only Marco, feeling a little safer. All members managed to get along, with a few differences aside of them finding it weird when Finn would talk to "himself". Marco and Finn were ready to leave after 2 more years of living there. Backpack ready, having some warmer and more resistant clothes, a lot of food stashed and a good amount of water with him. Marco and Finn thanked the small group that they could stay with them, and said their goodbyes, continuing to wander out together, searching for a good place to live by themselves. Eventually, they found a good spot in a forest where they settled down to live hidden from the public. Finn started making his own small underground cave, with the help of Marco helping him carry around objects to make the job easier, they managed to finish it really quick.
Now with holding the responsibility to protect Finn, Marco swore to not abuse his newfound strengths for the worse. While Finn will prepare himself on a journey to help Marco and himself find peace, Marco tends to reflect on if the goal will really be worth it, while Finn strongly tries to convince he should rest in peace.
