Imagined situation behind the (purposefully sketchy) picture:
*Aftermath of Battle; Hope enters into Kings bedroom where Bactine lies, apparently dead, on the floor*

Hope- Oh. I'm too late...*feels Bactine's forehead* Wait. *eyebrows raise* Not too late. *puts both hands on sides of Bactine's face; hands glow*

Bactine- Uhh...ng...*comes to* Wha...where am I? How...

Hope- You're safe! *glows Hope-ishly* I rescued you.

Bactine- *shakes head* But...but...I was dead...*eyes narrow at Hope* Explain.

Hope- *twiddles thumbs* Um, see, usually I'm only allowed to save someone of the Schloeffel family, and you lost so much blood...so...um...I donated. *grins*

Bactine- *gets worried* Donated what? Fairy blood? Is that even mundanely possible?!! *feels that something's different, but can't put her finger on it*

Hope- Well, yes and no. I'm immortal, so blood loss doesn't effect me...but you...*glances Bactine's way cautiously* When you mix fairy blood and human blood there are...*smiles wanly*...some side-effects.

Bactine- *tone becomes dangerous* Side-effects...?!

Hope- *blubbers nervously* Your health will improve, and I think you're healing will become stronger...and technically...your ears...

Bactine- My...health!? *feels ears* Bloody oblong ears!
I'm an ELF!!!! *Echos: "Elf...elf...elf..." birds scatter*

Tada! The solution to all our Sangwine-Bactine pairing problems: She becomes an elf. Cliche, but effective none the less.

Extra FAQ (for those who can't guess)
Q: Who's hands are those? And what's the glowy stuff?
A: That is Hope; she is a fairy from Colby Purcell's online fantasy novel, Lint. The yellow glowy stuff is her "fairy majik" XP Though it probably should be pink...

Q: Why does that brunette have white highlights in her hair? And why are her ears partially yellow?
A: Well, first of all, she just died from a healing-overdose (blew a healer fuse, I guess), and her hair got streaks of white in it. Second, her ears are yellow because, according to my theory, Hope is "saving" her, or donating fairy blood (she's immortal, so it doesn't hurt her). So technically, she's turning Bactine into an elf. Thus the extending yellow (and now pointy) ears.
