Courageous
Rolo doesn’t back down from any fight or confrontation. She finds her bark is loud enough to be pretty intimidating, if you couldn’t find the source of it. She’d confront man or dog, it doesn’t matter much to her. If she feels threatened or if someone is in trouble, she won’t allow herself to stand idly by.
Assertive
Rolo’s forceful personality has the ability to bend water to her command. While scouting for dogs to join her dream pack, her tone of voice and assured personality usually leaves others finding it hard to get away. To Rolo, there isn't anybody who holds more respect or value over others, and she won’t treat anyone differently for it. She speaks her mind and it doesn’t matter if it’s with a friend or a total stranger- she is completely and unabashedly herself.
Proud
Rolo has the pride of a dog six times her size. It often gets her into a lot of trouble with dogs that are actually six times her size, but that doesn’t worry her. This plays into her courageous nature, and it leaves her standing her ground in front of others, even if it’s a lost cause from an outsider’s perspective. If you asked her, all of it was justified and Rolo would rather roll over dead than admit defeat. If she feels disrespected or put down, she’ll let the other know, whether they like it or not.
Ambitious
She doesn’t like settling. She’s done enough of that in her younger years to know she’s not satisfied with it. She needed to aim higher, and that had led her to a want of a pack of her own. A dog like her making the rules and being the one who others go to for wisdom and guidance sounded like a dream come true, and became her newly affirmed goal. The respect of a pack leader is what she aspires for now, and nobody is going to be able to convince her it’s a mere pipe dream.

Irreverent
She does not care much for the “Laws of the Streets”, which has more to do with the fact that she herself is a stray, and following a set of rules in place after freeing herself from a sheltered life sounded less than thrilling. She doesn’t think strays should never cross hairs with pets, or steal, considering a stray's life is survival and stealing food could very much mean survival.

Backstory:
Rolo can remember a soft bed, warm food, and gentle pets. Those were constants in her life from the time she was a puppy to a young adult. She didn’t need to worry about shelter, or dangerous creatures lurking outside the door. She was content...for a while. She liked the outdoors - watching her owner clean his kill in the backyard, chasing birds picking at the ground, thinking about the dogs that would sometimes sniff in her territory.
She was even curious enough to dig a hole under the fence and walk outside, which is where she met a huge doberman pinscher, who shook her like a rag doll and tore her ear off. That was the closest she’d ever been to death before, and while she was terrified, the experience also left her with an intense feeling she couldn’t explain. She had wanted to go back and defend herself after her wound had healed. She wanted to find that dog again and teach them a lesson. It was harder to be content when the thirst for a fight lay festering within her.

Time passed and she almost forgot about those feelings until her owner suddenly hadn’t returned from his hunting trip. She waited until the hours spread to days. Many days had passed, where feelings of thirst and hunger became harder to ignore and yet she waited. Still, he did not return.
Fine! If she was going to be abandoned after being a loyal pet, then she’d spend the rest of her days living for herself! After nearly a week of little sustenance, she used her remaining strength to climb up to the kitchen counter and escape through an open window. She’s been on her own ever since.
