Funny thing about us being made of earth and water, while spirits like Djinns and this diety right here are made of Fire, and air.

It is believed in our Islamic religion that Djinns (a being of fire, and air) use to rule the world long before any creature (made of earth and water) showed up. As the Djinns become completely unfaithful, God sends his angels to purge every last one of them save for only one, Iblis the only Djinn who is still a believer.

He was invited to the heavens until he decides to leave and become a devil himself when Adam is made because he does not believe a creature of earth and water to be superior to beings like him (Iblis) who is made of Fire, and air. Though our religion just skip the time when the dinosaurs rule the earth, I take it they are not that important.

the reason why we are beings of earth and water is that we need these elements to keep us alive. We need water to avoid thirst, and earth as food from vegetables, fruits, other ingredients, and the meat of certain types of animals (who feast on earth like grass) to stay away from starvation.

As for the Djinns made of fire and air, I really don't know what keeps them alive.
