I already left a comment on Facebook, but I'll leave on here as well -- because it totally deserves it.
I cannot believe HOW quickly you are improving. And yeah, I know, I say this every single time I leave a comment, but it's TRUE. I am stunned and amazed by every new picture you submit; every time I'm thinking to myself 'It can't get better than THIS!' but each time you leave me speechless again, because apparently somehow you do manage to get better than the previous time.
It is seriously insane. I am so in love with your style. The detail is breathtaking as always; I have no idea how you are able to put so much detail into just one piece! Where do you get the patience from? It's incredible.
The lighting is beautiful, your lineart is smooth and gorgeous as always. I am very curious as to how you drew this, and I'd like to ask a few questions, if you don't mind. You don't have to answer them if you don't feel like it, though!
So . . .
1. What brush did you use to sketch this piece? I just had a look at the steps on your Blog, and I love the brush(es?) you used in the first two images! They have a very sketchy and pencil-like look to them;
2. Why did you decide to darken the white of the image in the third step picture?
3. Do you use the pen tool for your line art in some places, or is it all really drawn out?
4. And last, but not least... What does it feel like to draw on a Cintiq? I mean, you're basically drawing at different size ratios, and you're drawing on the screen itself, right? Does it make much difference?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really, really curious, and I love this piece so damn much!
(Oh, I was also wondering if you'd take commissions in this style -with- a background, and how much it'd cost. XD)
Much love!!

fjsjfl yeah so, thanks so much again!!!
A1. The brushes you can find here: [link]
Theyre really nice to sketch in I'd say definatley give them a go!
A2. When I move on to the colouring stage of the picture, I always find it easier to do if the background is close to the colour that I want it to end up as. I find when I colour with a white background and then change its colour after colouring the foreground I always see mistakes where I have gone over the line. If you get that x) Also, before starting the shading its easier to get the right tone of colour that will go with the background.
3. I never use the pen tool, its not even that i can't use it because I know how to I just prefer to do it the good ol' fashioned way with the brush!
4. haha, It didn't take more than a minute to get used to, I think because its pretty much as if you were drawing on paper so you don't really need to get used to any new sizes n__n
Thanks for the questions its nice to have someone so interested!
I'm hoping at some point soon to do a livestream of a drawing would be great if you'd like to watch! I just have to sort my computer out because my laptop can't handle it x)
also, A commission with a background I'd do for Β£30
Thanks a lot for the comment Kerei!

Aww, thanks so much for the link to the brushes, and even more thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions lol I'm sorry if I'm a bother sometimes, I just really adore your style and it's amazing how motivated you always seem to be.. It's really inspiring!!
You don't even use the pen tool?! That is seriously, seriously incredible. I asked because I was looking at some points of the lineart, such as the tail, and the base of the tree in the foreground. And it looked so... curvy, round, and smooth -- I would NEVER be able to do that without the pen tool because my hand(s) in general are really shaky. Unless I'd zoom in to like 600% on a 200% version of the image, I wouldn't manage to get this done thats really cool
Dude if you'd do a livestream session, I'd totally come!! Sure! I've been watching livestreams of several other artists lately already, it'd be great!
Thanks so much again for all the info, I appreciate it

When I first saw the sketch you did for this, I was so impressed, and you know that. And as each stage built up, I was even more in awe than the last time.
And now this.
Seriously Grace, this is such a beautiful piece, and it thrills me to see just how exponentially your skill has increased, now that you have the means to put forward the concepts that stem from your seemingly unlimited potential.
I'm practically beaming while looking at this piece β you've done such a fantastic job, and there's such a warmth coming from it all.
Really really great stuff. PROUD O' YOU :')
