Description
Pokémon type symbols I made using Inkscape. I had to invent a few to get one for each type. New symbol designs by me: ice, poison, ground, flying, bug, rock, ghost and dragon.Original symbols design (colorless, fire, water, lightning, grass, fighting, psychic, dark and steel) belong to Nintendo.
Font: Pokemon Hollow at dafont.com.
Buttons: Aqua button available from Icojam.com.
Pokémon belong to The Pokémon Company. I am not associated with The Pokémon Company and no copyright infringement is intended with this fan art.
UPDATE (28/09/2013): I have decided to upload a new version of this file, a ZIP file containing all the symbols (including an updated dragon type symbol as well as the new fairy type symbol) as individual PNG images. Please see the new upload here: Pokemon Type Symbols (Downloadable) .

I've been out of the card game loop for a while and I thought at first the were the new official symbols. So great job, you had me fooled! I'm aspiring to make a fakemon pokedex and would like to use these symbols to identify my pokemons' types. Would you be alright with that?

Lol, the person who thought ground looks like poop...the best idea I have is a hill. Like rock is a mountain. Just make the rock symbol again, only not as jagged.
Yeah...I found these on google...and I've been tracing them to use as element symbols for character refsheets. But as you said further down the comment page, you dont mind, right?

I based most of them on the real symbols used in the card game. For the ones that aren't used in the game, I made symbols myself. (eg. in the card game, poison and grass use the same symbol, so I made a different one for poison). The originals are: normal, fire, water, electric, grass, fighting, psychic, dark and steel. The rest I made up myself.

I don't like the idea of Dark being represented by a moon, but I guess there really isn't any better symbol.

I'm making a card with a fake pokemon - it's a platypus-type thing that my friend really likes... but I'm having trouble finding a desent blank card that has the symbols in the right places. :/ I'll be sure to write your name in those little letters across the top of the yellow part of the card.

Ohh This brings up so many old memories. Pokémon cards, the show (I liked the old one, not the "new" stuff) The GAMES. That was times... Young and happy ^^

Yeah. I kind of had a flashback of me playing the gameboy games and collecting the cards and so on. And just on top of that I smiled
In our last three years in High School I spend a lot of time with some guys that also enjoyed Pokémon when they were younger
