Personality: Nina is brash, compulsive, energetic and crass. She's very aggressive in almost everything she does, be it conversations, relationships and fights. She has a tendency to lose her temper and curse up a storm and she doesn't always think things through. She acts on impulse and lets her emotions determine the things she does. She's never grossed out about anything (ever) and has no problem with getting her hands dirty (metaphorically and literally).
At a glance, she can be a little off putting, but she's a really nice person. Nina is extremely loyal to her friends and family. She will always fight for what she thinks is right, and she NEVER GIVES UP. She always sees the light at the end of the tunnel and always struggles to reach it. She never loses hope.
Her father was a soldier in the Italian Campaign (World War 2) before becoming a hero in the fantasy world. He bestowed upon her countless harrowing war stories she tried her best to not pay attention to (to no avail) and many lessons on how not to die in the wild wide world of beasts and demons. So she's grown up with real world logic mixed together with a fantasy disposition. Despite his efforts to get her to see how dangerous the world can be, she's still gone and made friends with a pack of demonic wolves, giant vengeful god rams, malicious spirits, giant talking serpents, so on and so forth.
She's pretty smart, but she's no geneus. She picks up on things quickly and is very good at seeing through lies and bullshit. It's not because she can read people's expressions, but more that she can very quickly tell who's a good guy and who's a bad guy. She makes estimations based on the probability that the people she's talking to will be lying or not, and as a result, doesn't trust untrustworthy people. Further more, even if someone is untrustworthy, she's quick to discern if they're on her side or not. It's an animalistic intuition which has proven very useful in contributing to her not suffering a horrific death in the mouth of a giant hungry monster.

Weapons:
Super Slingshot - It shoots all sorts of different ammunition at speeds between 700 and 1200 fps. She can load and shoot it rapidly and accurately (up to three shots in a burst). The ammo types:
Metal Slug - Just like a bullet
High Explosive - Like a grenade launcher
Air Burst - Like artillery
Phosphorus - Like plasma
Flashbang - Like a flashbang
Inferno - Like napalm
Smoke - Like a smoke screen

Frag - There's shrapnal enough for everyone
Magic Crystals - Or any other random thing she picks up.

Crazy Awesome Knife - It's long, thick and really sharp. Longer than your average bowie knife and shorter than a gladius, this kukri is a menace to all things of the fleshy disposition.

Abilities:
Animal friend - Animals love her. All of them.
Hero's Will - She utilizes the cliche willpower last stand so commonly found in anime. When all hope is lost, she will find a reason to keep fighting and make a heroic last stand. This will happen without fail.
Blind Rage Blitzkrieg - When she loses her mind to anger, she becomes numb to fatigue and damage and her mental restrictions on her body are all lifted, allowing her to surpass her human capabilities. Unfortunately she also loses her mind.
Focus Flash - When extremely focused on her fight, she becomes equally as quick at responding to stimuli, making her extremely fast.
Anxious Instinct - When anxiety kicks in, she becomes astoundingly attune with her environment and can sense traps and sneak attacks, even if the person is invisible or behind her. This is a funky one, since her intuition will spark anxiety, and the more instinctual she gets, the more anxious she gets. This goes away the moment she gets angry or stops fighting.

Since her abilities are determined by her emotions, she can only use ONE at a time.

Fighting:
Nina usually rides Rufus around (wherever possible) and shoots things with her slingshot. She's not above average in speed and agility but will try to dodge attacks when necessary, though dodging might come in the form of jumping back and running away. She's also not particularly strong (not stronger than human capabilities). She's got great reflexes (reflexes that are much faster than her body) so she compensates for her lack of speed with tactical positioning and blocking. It's true she doesn't have many of the common fighting attributes, but she really shines when it comes to endurance and stamina. Growing up in a high altitude mountain environment has given her the respiratory system of an olympian on crack. She can run for days (seriously, we're talking chasing a pack of Uruk Hai through middle earth to rescue a couple of hobbits before they reach Isengard). She will also take a ferocious beating and not give up. In her home, giving up and resting from damage means you get eaten, so none of that shit. She's like an energizer bunny wrapped up in a 17 year old girl body.
She's SUPER aggressive all the time. She likes it a lot more if she draws first blood, and will strike first if she thinks a fight is coming. She's clear set on her goals and believes what she's doing it right and just, and will fight as such. She lets her emotions run wild. She swings her knife rapidly and wildly and won't stop until she's won. If somebody surrenders, she might beat them up a bit more to make her happy, and then knock them out. She would never turn her back on her opponent. She also hates people who monologue in fights.

Rufus is a demonic wolf. That means he came from hell. The devil let him out of the pen, and has regretted it ever since. Rufus is a bad hell hound, but an awesome dog!
He's friendly and playful and loves everybody. He can be pretty intimidating, what with being a bit smaller than a horse and having glowing red eyes, but he becomes harmless when you rub his belly. Rufus tends to stick his nose into everything and then eat it. He can eat everything organic. He gets excited when he sees people he likes (especially Nina's dad). He's actually her father's dog, but Nina takes care of him. He never wants to be left alone, and he loves cuddling. If there's something disgusting you want to avoid, he's all over it. He hates baths. He will get really sad when he's given a bath or a scolding, but once given a treat or hug he's your friend again. He will EAT YOUR FOOD if you turn your back on him for even a second. He does naughty things all the time, but acts innocent right after. He will get distracted REALLY easily. It's easy to bait him out or to get him to chase things. He chases rabbits all the time, and never catches them. He also chases horses all the time, and always catches them. He's also caught mountain lions and bears and cougars. There's a mess of scar tissue hidden under his fur. He's scared shitless of jackalopes.

Abilities:
Rufus doesn't die. When dealt fatal injuries, he turns into a vortex of black demonic energy before disappearing and ending up back in hell.
