|| Personality ||

    From the time he was born Sevast'ian had to plaster on a confident image to impress those around him. His father was cruel to him, bringing him to submission around those larger and stronger than him. He always hated it, and so he tried to be strong. Now, he comes across as very rude to those around him, and he doesn't like the company of others unless they are there to worship him. Sevast'ian has a rather dirty mouth and swears quite a bit, esepcially when he gets frustrated or angry. It's hard to set Sevast'ian off, as he is very clever-minded and has no problem throwing back any insults. Besides that, considering the things his father put him through, most of the taunts he gets (especially about belonging to an outcasted stag) don't seem like much. To add to this, Sev can be very stubborn and single-minded at times, deciding that he isn't going to stop until what he wants to do is done. His outlook on life is rather sarcastic, though he can settle down and be serious with the friends he trusts. Jokes and taunts are normally the first things from his tongue, and he's not very good at being kind or loving. He hasn't experienced any of it for himself except from his mother, and he would never, ever admit that out loud. While he loved his mother to death, he isn't about to let a part of him weaken because of it. He thinks he always has to be perfect and that no one will like him if he isn't. It would be accurate to say that, for the most part, his history has shaped his personality. Despite the fact that everything is a joke to him, Sevast'ian is very mature and has a good understanding of how things work. He is a very quick thinker and fast on his feet, making him ideal for clambering around the small caves. His memory is exceptional, another reason he is so good in the darkness. Others can't exactly rely on him, but once Sev has his mind set on something, he'll get it done. If he makes a promise, which he would rarely do, he will keep it to the end. He is very independent, though he still relies on some type of contact with others to keep himself going. Sevast'ian loves a good adventure and loves the thrill of getting himself into trouble. Of course it doesn't always go as planned, but that doesn't mean he won't try showing off to the others in some break-neck stunt. With that being said, Sev is not completely stupid. He may act like it or give off the impression that he is, but it's just part of his game. He would never do something if he didn't think he would come out safely. Mind you, he is convinced he is invinsible, though at the same time he is aware of the reality and prefers to keep within his limits where allowed. Due to the fact that Sevast'ian had been abused by his father, he has no tolerance for it whatsoever now. He has a strong hatred for the stag and a deep resentment that will probably never go away. He doesn't put up with anyone who reminds him in the slightest of his father, and if he ever sees someone being picked on, he will march on up and protect the victim without a second thought.

|| History ||
    Born a rogue, Sevast'ian had a rough life as a fawn. From the moment he first opened his eyes his father knew he wasn't going to result to much, though that wouldn't stop him from training his only ticket back into Oakfern. His father was cruel, always looking down on Sev and making him feel worthless. More often times than not Sev would wonder why or how his sweet mother could ever love someone like him, but if he ever dared speak out his mind, he was beaten. If he ever made a wrong move or spoke the wrong words, his father would give him another bruise or set of cuts to remember him by. Sevast'ian had a hard time understanding why he was like this, but he always kept to himself in fear of being beaten once more. Every now and then, when his father wasn't around and he was alone with his mother, he would confide in her. She would only murmur sweet nothings in his large ears and then bring him against her warm body. His father would have never approved, and he could see the longing in her eyes whenever she was able to be close to her son. She never did give an explanation as to why she was with him.
     While they didn't have that perfect father and son bond, Sevast'ian was forced to spend the majority of his time with his father. He would take him through the forests, roughly guiding his son along, stopping every other minute to bark at him for making a noise or holding his head too low. He tried turning the young fawn into a handsome stag, but he seemed not to understand that Sev was young. Whenever he trailed away from the path after a butterfly or to play a game, his father would come right after him. Sevast'ian would always cower away which only made his father more angry. He would spit his disgust at the fawn, threatening to disown him. Frightened into submission, Sev would cry his pleas, and they'd soon go on as if nothing had happened. Only the little fawn felt the effects his father was having.
     Even though they didn't have much time along together, his mother is the one who was always there and kept him sane. She was a beautiful doe, a downright shame for being stuck with his father. Of course he hadn't realized it then. All he wanted then was to be accepted. Sevast'ian knew that his father hated him, despised him, wished him ill. But his mother? His mother was the sweetest soul to ever walk the Western Isles, and she stood up for him whenever she could. She, too, would be put back into her place, but it saved Sev one more beating for the night. Of course Sevast'ian hated seeing his father abuse his mother that way, but she seemed not to care much about it anymore, taking each hoof with her head held high until he felt satisfied that she was back where she should be. He assumed that she was used to being treated this way, though that thought only twisted his young heart even further. Though whenever he got an injury, his mother would soothe him and use her brilliant understanding of herbs to heal him, despite his fathers protests. He claimed that one didn't need to be healed and that Sev was weak for running to her every time he needed something patched up. Neither one cared, and she would always find some way to heal his injures. Unfortunately he never got so lucky with knowing those things, but he wanted to learn.
     Finally tired of trying to prove Sevast'ian was worth his time, his father decided to leave him towards the end of winter. All he saw was a worthless piece of fur, and he was tired of wasting his time on trying to train the young fawn. His ticket back into his beloved Oakfern herd was useless, now completely dead to him. No herd would take such a whiney little brat that always stood shivering in his place. His mother thought otherwise, and at first, she refused to leave her fawn alone. Sevast'ian's father wouldn't have it, and not much longer after that he was walking off, his bruised and bloodied beloved trailing unwantingly behind. This was a rage Sev had never seen before from his father, and he wanted so badly to run after them, to make sure his mother was safe. However, the way his father's eyes pierced through him when he spat at the fawn left him glued to the spot. Being at the young age he was, Sev was confused. He was frightened and didn't know what to do or where to go. It was freezing and food was already scarce. Now he was alone to fend for himself and somehow manage to stay alive. Sevast'ian began wandering around. Thanks to the small amount of knowledge of the world around him that his mother had taught him, he was able to pick out certain things to eat and maintained himself that way fairly well. There were, of course, many other dangers out there, but somehow he managed to get past each one.
    One could say Oakfern called for him; Sevast'ian felt drawn to them. Ever since stumbling upon the caves, he knew it was what he had wanted. He liked the way they could control water and were able to use the glowing moss to help identify each other. It was awhile until he first tried joining their ranks - he studied them and their peculiar ways first.Though still young and naïve, Sevast'ian had a brain enough to know that one couldn't just stomp on in and expect to become accepted. By living on his own he had learned that one cannot rush things, and they must be patiently waited out. He knew that if he jumped on into the caves he would get himself into a lot of trouble. The young fawn decided to continue sneaking around, spying on the members and learning how they worked things. He had been noticed once or twice, but he was normally quick about things and was never in one place for too long. If any of the other Fawnlings had been able to explain his appearance he would have considered them psychic. Once satisfied that he knew enough about Oakfern, he finally decided to try wriggling his way among them. It hadn't exactly gone as planned.. it was not even close.
     Sevast'ian was making his way into one of the caves when he ran into a rather large looking stag, considering this was Oakfern and most of them were small in size. The stag was completely unimpressed with the fawn and threatened him, saying that he had to leave the caves and never came back. Whenever Sev asked why, the other laughed. He didn't know that the fawn had no idea about his parents. He decided to break the news to him. Sev was horrified afterwards and still struggling to understand how this stag had even known whom his parents were. Regardless, the stag sneered the story, spitting it into his face - how his father was banished and his pathetic mother was unable to see him go alone. Of course he also had to add that Sev would never have been born had his father not done the terrible things he had. It explained why he had felt so drawn to the herd, though, and Sevast'ian wasn't going to just quit right there. He denied the accusations and tried to convince him that he wasn't his father and that he could be valuable to the herd. Sev even told him about watching Oakfern, which only infuriated the other even further. Needless to say, it ended with the young fawn sprinting for his life and a very angry Fawnling on his heels.
    It was another few months before Sevast'ian tried again to join the ranks of Oakfern. He was growing older and still struggling on his own out in the wilderness. Jaguars were everywhere, and it wasn't just once or twice that he would run into them. While he was becoming more comfortable living outside of a herd, he knew what he needed was the company and safety of others. Of course he knew that joining a herd also had its downsides, but he kept his head screwed on straight, letting himself know that it was safer with other Fawnlings. They could help him in a time of need, and he as well. Living on his own had turned him a bit bitter, though, and whenever he stumbled across others he often found himself snapping and being rude. Sevast'ian didn't mind much; he wasn't going out of his way to fix himself. He did, however, understand that he would have to teach himself to behave a little better if he ever had hopes of joining Oakfern.
     He finally got his chance one dark and stormy evening. A horrid storm crashed through the area, and in its path left nothing but destruction. Multiple trees across the area had fallen as well as water levels rising quickly. The fawn was searching for higher ground, a safer place at least, when he stumbled upon an injured owl. Sevast'ian, at first, wasn't sure how to react. He then remembered, from watching the herd so closely, that the owl was very important to them. Now had he not just a way to save the animal, but he also had his way into the herd. It was a crazy idea, but there wasn't time to contemplate. Sevast'ian took the owl to the caves. It took a few tries to find the place he was looking for, but eventually he got there. He then placed the owl by the sacred Moonpool to be healed and looked after by the shaman. He was praised for saving a worshipped animal, and his acceptance into Oakfern was immediately thought over once more. This time, however, it was agreed to make him a new addition. Sev was overjoyed. He fit in well with the other Oakferns and got along with whomever could and would put up with him. All in all, he was ready to start over and clear the family name.

The rest of his history, for the most part, are little stories and things that will be explained later on through roleplays or images as Sevast'ian develops as a character. The written history shown here will also be tweaked as new things arise or where parts need edited.

What Happens Next?

Learn what his parents did to be banished and how Sevast'ian earned his way back into Oakfern.
Sevast'ian was born a rogue, but his parents weren't. Both mother and father were Oakfern, so how did they end up roaming the land around? Learn how his timid mother ended up with such a beast. After being left alone, we'll follow young Sev through his journey as he finds his way to Oakfern, the place where he knew he belonged. He sneaks around, eventually hoping to join their ranks. Learn about all the troubles he finds along the way, and then eventually how he gets accepted by the herd which had banished his parents.
Pick a few fights with other Fawnlings.
Either within or out of his herd. Sevast'ian has a large ego, and he would do anything to uphold his charming image. Being of a smaller size, he has a big of disadvantage towards the larger stags, but his speed and incredible wit make up for it. Along with his basic understanding of water magic as well, he feels he would make a decent opponent for someone. He's very smart and can pinpoint weaknesses. Of course he won't always win, but he would never go down without an attempt to save his appearance.
He would like to continue training in water magic.
Even before joining Oakfern, Sevsat'ian had taken an interest in their ways. He liked the way they could manipulate the water, and directly after being accepted in, he began training. He trained with the more experienced Fawnlings, and while his training had started a little later than the other fawns at the time, he moved up quickly. Although most had gained their medium level title by age five, Sevast'ian only got his a few months ago when he finally turned six. He's not ready to quit yet. The young stag dreams of becoming the most advanced magic user within the herd, and he's not stopping until he gets there - one step at a time.
Study herb lore.
Sevast'ian's memories of the past may not be all unicorns and rainbows, but the one thing he'll fondly look back on is his loving mother. They were always close, and she would do whatever she could for her fawn. He remembered her great knowledge of the plants and the land around her. She could manipulate it and knew how to heal others. While it seems highly unlikely, Sevast'ian (secretly) wants to study herb lore so that he, like his mother, can help others that desprately need his help. That being said, he'll need to find someone with a vast knowledge on the subject that he can trust. Their meetings would have to be kept secret, and he would have to be able to trust them to keep quiet.
Win the hearts of a few does (and possibly stags) / create a "fan club". In his eyes,  Sevast'ian is the greatest thing to walk the Western Isles. He knows that he's handsome, and there's nothing he loves more than winding up the women. Of course not everyone will love him, but he enjoys a challenge.
Be a father.
Well, it doesn't have to be by his own will. Who ever said you need one doe for the rest of your life? Certainly not Sevast'ian. He's been known to get around with that make-you-melt grin. The doe and fawn may not even be within Oakfern, but it makes no difference to Sevast'ian, at least not yet. He would probably be very skeptical at first and most definitely will deny the fawn being his. Eventually, though, he may decide to grow a pair and step up. Who knows.
