Man! This was a pretty bold piece for me to do, but I did it! The title is a reference to both Jake’s role as American Dragon and Juniper’s name, which is also a mountain gem, not just a plant! I was inspired by a friend of mine after I saw some drawings that she had done with some traditional Chinese Hanfu. This is Jake Long and Juniper Lee celebrating Chinese New Year together in the Hanfu that Juniper’s Ah-Mah made them (my backstory is that Ah-Mah is in full support of her granddaughter’s relationship with the American Dragon and does everything she can to encourage them! Hence her wanting them to spend the Chinese New Year together with homemade Hanfu.) as a gift. Jake has always been very confident in himself, but he’s never spent a Chinese New Year with anyone outside of his family, so he does feel a few nerves. I may have to write a story for this now!Their oufits were super fun to do and exceptionally intricate to design! They were colored with my Arteza markers which blend gorgeously on the page!
